A story that's becoming more and more common unfortunately.
Had one of the private equity plumbing companies come by for a backed up drain yesterday * on the phone * So it’s just the $49 for the drain right? Obv if I need more I’ll pay it “Yes that’s it” Okay cool thanks *gets to my house* “So I didn’t bring any of my auger or anything for the drain because I didn’t think you’d actually need it, but we’ll come back this week for that, while I’m here have you thought about replacing your main sewer line? You probably need to”

Had a contractor tell us today he was ready to switch to COUPLR because he loved the platform. Then he asked what it would cost him per month. We told him $0. He asked again. We told him $0 again. Apparently we're going to have to work on making free sound more believable.

A customer we’ve never talked to just sent their first invoice on @couplrfsm They signed up, added their team, imported their price book, SOPs, etc. the whole 9 years… completely self-serve. We have the best customer service in the game but the software is also easy enough for you to do it on your own, if you want!

Every business operates a little differently, so we built @couplrfsm to be as flexible as possible. You can build your own custom tools directly inside the platform, much like you would with Claude or Codex, without having to worry about deployment, hosting, maintenance, syncing data or any of the technical overhead. You can even publish those tools to a marketplace for other shops to use, or install tools built by other businesses.

This customer was using only Square. That’s it. We imported all of their customers and invoices from Square and built them a new website, for free. “I’ve never come across something truly so all inclusive.”

It’s 0700 on a Monday. You own an HVAC company doing $15M a year. Six months ago, you got tired of paying ServiceTitan $12,000 a month. You figured, why not just build our own CRM? You hired a developer for $120,000 a year. He told you he’d have a working system in three months. You did the math. No more software fees. Complete control. Everything built exactly how your company operates. You told your wife it was an investment. It’s now July. It’s 102 degrees outside. Your phone rings. “Boss, the schedule is blank. I’ve got 14 techs standing around.” You call your developer. No answer. You text him. “Hey man, urgent. Dispatch is completely down.” He responds 20 minutes later. “Sorry, I’m on PTO this week. Remember?” You forgot. At 7:32 your dispatcher calls again. “We’ve got 26 calls to assign. What do you want me to do?” You tell her to use a spreadsheet. She reminds you that you canceled ServiceTitan last month. At 8:03 your salesman walks in. “Where’d my $42,000 replacement estimate go?” You have no idea. You text your developer again. He says he’ll take a look tonight. At 8:17 your office manager tells you three customers were charged twice. You ask if she can refund them. She can’t. The refund button hasn’t been built yet. At 8:46 your service manager knocks. “Boss, the techs are pissed. Half the app doesn’t work, and they’re threatening to quit.” You call another software developer. He charges $175 an hour. He asks for access to the codebase. Two hours later, he calls back. “Who built this?” You tell him. There’s a long pause. “Yeah, we’re probably going to need to rewrite a good portion of it.” You ask how much. “Hard to say. Maybe $60,000 to start.” At 11:30 your developer finally calls. He says the scheduling issue is fixed, but the invoicing module needs to be rebuilt. He also mentions he’s expecting a raise at his annual review. He’s been getting recruiter messages for $150,000. You think about the $120,000 salary. The payroll taxes. The health insurance. The 401(k). The PTO. The $175/hour contractor. The $40,000 you’ve already spent on development tools, servers, and outside help. You think about the night you told your wife: “Why are we paying someone else for software when we could own it ourselves?” At 2:14 your dispatcher calls. “Boss, the schedule is blank again.” You call your developer. Straight to voicemail. He’s on vacation. You stare at the spreadsheet your dispatcher has been using all day. Congratulations. You wanted to eliminate a software expense. Instead, you created an entire software department. And it has one employee who’s on PTO. Just use @couplrfsm it’s free!
It’s 0700 on a Monday. You own an HVAC company doing $3.2M a year. Six months ago, you got tired of paying ServiceTitan $4,000 a month. You saw a guy on X build an entire CRM using Cursor and Claude. You figured, how hard could it be? Three weeks later, you had scheduling, estimates, invoices, and a dispatch board. You canceled ServiceTitan. You told your wife you just saved $24,000 a year. It’s July. It’s 102 degrees outside. Your phone rings. “Boss, the schedule is blank. I’ve got 14 techs standing around.” You open Cursor. “URGENT. All scheduled jobs disappeared. Fix it without breaking anything.” Claude thinks for 30 seconds. “Found it! I’ve corrected the scheduling query.” You deploy. The jobs come back. At 7:12 your lead tech calls. “Why does my app say I’m supposed to be at three houses at 8?” Every job is assigned to the same technician. You ask Claude to fix it. “You’re absolutely right! My previous fix inadvertently affected technician assignments.” You deploy again. At 7:24 your office manager walks in. “Customers are calling. We charged them twice.” You open Stripe. $18,000 in duplicate charges. Claude forgot to make the payment webhook idempotent. “Great catch! I’ve implemented a fix.” Great catch. At 7:41 a customer calls screaming. Their AC has been out since Saturday. Your AI receptionist booked them an appointment. Nobody showed up. You check the database. 37 appointments sitting in a table that isn’t connected to your dispatch board. Claude created a new table instead of using the existing one. “I apologize for the confusion.” At 8:03 your salesman walks in. “Where’d my $42,000 replacement estimate go?” It’s gone. So are 11 others. You ask about backups. “Automated backups do not appear to be configured.” You remember asking Claude to set those up. It said it did. At 8:17 your dispatcher calls again. “Are we supposed to text customers every five minutes?” Your reminder automation has sent 6,400 texts since midnight. One customer received 83 reminders. At 8:46 your service manager knocks. “Boss, are you coming to the meeting? Callbacks are up 30%.” You tell him five minutes. At 9:02 your wife texts. “Coming home for dinner?” You don’t respond. You’re trying to figure out why every condenser replacement now has a 97% discount. You ask Claude to fix it. “Absolutely! Let me refactor the pricing engine.” It starts modifying 46 files. You think about the $4,000 a month you were paying ServiceTitan. The $600 in AI subscriptions. The $1,200 cloud bill. The $18,000 in duplicate charges. The 14 techs who haven’t completed a job today. At 9:28 Cursor finishes. “All issues resolved! Your application is now production-ready.” You have no idea what changed. You click Deploy. Your phone rings. “Boss, the schedule is blank again.” Congratulations. You’re no longer running an HVAC company. You’re running a software company. Just use @couplrfsm — it’s free.

If you sell your house, drain your 401k, put it all into starting a manufacturing company, sign 15 PGs, work 100+ hours a week, get sued, get gray hair, and wake up at 4am every morning, they send you this cool plaque.

“I just want the cheapest price” This tank is 4 years old and the guy who installed it used galvanized fittings. Now we’re replacing it.

Lost my sunglasses so I ordered a new pair. Had the last pair for 10+ years because I’m cheap. New set comes in, and I immediately find my old pair. 🤦‍♂️ Do I send the new ones back? Or let myself live a little?

Guys HVAC companies are COOKED I just built a fully agentic AI HVAC/plumbing company with 0 humans involved. Everything you see below is AI. Air conditioner unit installs, kitchen sink repairs, drivers, etc. Comment "HVAC" if you want a fully-functioning AI HVAC company blueprint yourself (profit margins on these companies are close to 100%)

My wife caught me doing something weird on a walk yesterday. She stopped and said, "Why do you keep adjusting your stride to make sure you step over the sidewalk cracks? Are you a five-year-old?" I said, "It's just a little game to keep my legs stretched out." She shook her head, mumbled something about marrying a toddler, and kept walking. Little does she know... the cracks are high-voltage laser tripwires. The neighborhood is heavily guarded by a rival syndicate, and if my shoe even grazes a fault line, the invisible snipers take the shot. My agility is the only thing keeping us alive on this trip to Starbucks.

Understand that the more grateful you feel… …the less negativity you will experience. Which will lead to less doubt and less anxiety… Which in turn gives abundance of positive energy… Which you have available to focus on productive thoughts and actions. And productive thoughts and actions are what create your “ultimate life”. Your ultimate life starts with gratitude.
