For Nigerians who want to earn more, I'm building The Dollar Offer Blueprint, for landing dollar jobs and clients. I also run DIME (Digital Income Made Easy) for selling digital products, and an AI Marketing Bootcamp for product and growth marketers. marketinginaction.xyz/academ…

You post every day, run a few ads and sit in three communities. You still cannot say which one brought your last five customers. That is a missing system. @amosferanmi is teaching one on Saturday 7 November, from 12:00 to 16:00 Lagos time. It is a practical four hour virtual workshop on finding your ideal customer, choosing channels, building a simple funnel, tracking the right metrics and running acquisition experiments. Without a plan and clear numbers, you cannot tell which activity brings customers.

You can do whatever you like as long as it doesn't affect your job. And now you're a Paystack Mafia.
Yesterday at Moonshot, I had the best time sharing the stage with @shollsman during his keynote on how Paystack powers the ambition of not just its customers but the stacks that build the product. We also shared a never-before-seen pic of me pitching Selar to him with the audience 😄 I'll be forever grateful for my time at Paystack 💖

Both men and women are inclined to doubt a female’s age. You’ll see this in comment sections everywhere a young person (especially female) mentions their age. Maybe Nigerians really have poor eyes to match a person to their age, or it stems from internal jealousy and bitterness that a 20 something year old has accomplished a whole lot more than they can ever aspire to in their lifetime. I’m not lost to the fact that there’s some cultural nuance about “not asking / disclosing a woman’s age” and how Nigerians also normalize “football age” for men as well. I’m also aware that there are a number of bad actors too who will go to interview with Egungun and claim they’re 22 even if they’re in their early thirties, but we know they do this for clout. Some also are not honest about their age because society expects women to get married by 24. We all know. But let’s start telling ourselves the truth on this internet. Allow these young people actually be, and allow their journey motivate you to do better.
Hold on…Adeife is just 25???😳😳 Like TWO and FIVE…but🤐

PostHog's onboarding is now an AI agent. I wanted to know what that feels like from the developer's chair, so I built an app and let it loose.

If I was to do a product launch for this feature, I would start by recording the wizard, uncut, running on a real open-source project, one whose code is public. I'd show the code it wrote in the docs and have the engineer who ran it post the recording. Then I'd count how many people who run the wizard get as far as seeing their first useful result. That shows whether it works in real projects.

I write up the things I build after reading what a company is working on. The full breakdown is here: jamespraise.xyz/work/posthog… If you want one built for your company or product, my DMs are open.

Google Flow @FlowbyGoogle will always do things that you didn’t ask it to do, especially things that defy physics. Perhaps that’s why it is called flow?

Applying for a job, or trying to get hired at all, is a full-time job right now. The job market has changed significantly since 2020. There have been a lot of layoffs, some driven by markets and economic conditions, and more and more by AI. In the US alone, 1.9 million people have been out of work for 27 weeks or more. That is about 27% of everyone unemployed (Bureau of Labor Statistics (@BLS_gov), September 2026). Employers also cited AI in 116,175 announced US job cuts through August, more than any other reason this year (Challenger, Gray & Christmas (@ChallengerGray)). So people with a lot of experience, with impressive resumes, portfolios and accomplishments, are all in the same job market right now. I know people who have been looking for close to a year. Some less, some longer. Some just lost their jobs and are probably in a different headspace. Others have been applying for so long that it has become their full-time job. A lot of effort goes into hiring on both sides, but mostly on the applicant's side. You jump through so many hoops. You submit applications, answer screening questions, and write tailored resumes and cover letters. In many cases, you're even asked to record video presentations to answer questions as part of the application. I've recorded a lot of those. I host mine on @YouTube, so I can see the view counts. Half of the ones I can track have zero views. Nobody ever opened the link. Some applications take you through multiple stages of interviews. Some processes take one, two, three, four months, and you have to prepare and be at your best for every round. I've applied for a lot of roles this year. 21 of them went past the application form, and across those I sat through 40 separate stages: screening calls, interviews, panels, assessments, take-home tasks, a one-day trial, a paid audit and recorded videos. One of them ran for more than four months. In another, I did an interview and a paid task, then sent six follow-ups over more than two months. It ended without a decision. Many times, you get ghosted. More than half of my applications never got a reply from a person. I've also had dozens of rejections, some of them after the final panel. I'm not the only one. Greenhouse surveyed 1,200 US job seekers this year. Among those who had interviewed, 45% said their most common complaint was being ghosted by the employer. It gets very discouraging. Sometimes all the effort you put in looks like it goes to waste. It doesn't actually go to waste. If you're looking for work in this market, don't give up. It's a tough market in general, and you just have to keep going. And if you're a recruiter, please be more gracious in this period. Respect candidates' time and effort, and remember that it's humans you're dealing with. If you want people to put in so much effort, time and even money, be gracious in the process as well.

A generic AI answer to a marketing question is often wrong for how you work. I wrote my own marketing decisions down as skills and published 34 of them for free on @github. The same file runs in Claude Code (@claudeai) and @OpenAI's Codex (@OpenAIDevs). The full breakdown is in the reply.

In January I built the Marketing In Action (@marketinginact) website myself with AI. In October I redesigned it. This video goes from the old page to the new one for the homepage, the Academy and the bootcamp page, then clicks through every tab.

I started my marketing work with saved prompts and custom GPTs in ChatGPT (@ChatGPTapp). That worked for a while. Then I needed the AI to open a browser, read a webpage, edit a file and run a script. Claude Code (@claudeai), Anthropic's (@AnthropicAI) AI coding tool, was the first one I used that could do those things inside my usual work tools.

The same file runs in Claude Code, Anthropic's AI coding tool, and in @OpenAI's Codex (@OpenAIDevs) coding tool. It can also become a ChatGPT Project, because each one reads the same plain instructions. I write the instructions once and use them in different places.

The GitHub collection started as 46 skills. I cut it to 19 so other people could use it, and it has grown to 34. You can ask Claude Code to install them from GitHub or upload each skill as a zip file. I write up the things I build and why I built them. The full breakdown is here: jamespraise.xyz/work/marketi… If you want a set built around your team's opinions, my DMs are open.
