Let me do a detailed breakdown of my post of last on why married men need to be careful with their japa decisions or plans.
In Nigeria, when a man is bringing in above N1m every month, he can carry the house on his own.
Rent or mortgage in a decent area, school fees, feeding, light and water, small domestic help, even a driver if he wants.
The wife does not have to chase the same hours just to keep the lights on.
She can work if she wants, or work part-time, or focus on the children and the home without the family collapsing.
Decisions are simpler to make and carry out. He is not waiting on her salary to pay the landlord. She is not calculating whether her contribution gives her equal say on every expense.
The man still leads financially, so the traditional shape of the marriage stays intact. That is the âpeace and privilegesâ part.
Put simply, he is not begging or negotiating from a weak position.
Now move the same couple abroad. The above N1m does not follow them as real spending power.
Rent in London, Toronto or Houston for a family of four is already painful.
Childcare is expensive or non-existent.
Taxes take a big bite.
To live anything close to the life they had, both of them usually have to work full-time, often long hours, sometimes in jobs below what they were doing at home.
Suddenly the wifeâs income is not extra; it is now a necessity. When her money is what keeps the family afloat, two things happen:
First, she starts expecting a bigger voice on money decisions, career choices, where they live, how the children are raised.
Second, the man feels the pressure of not being able to provide the way he used to. Arguments about whose money paid for what become common.
Resentment builds on both sides. He feels like he has lost the role he was used to. She feels like she is carrying weight she did not sign up for when they were still in Nigeria.
People like to say âwe will both earn three times more and everything will be fine.â In practice the extra money is often swallowed by the higher cost of living, so the net improvement is smaller than they imagined.
Meanwhile the marriage is now running on two full-time jobs instead of one solid provider and a supporting partner.
That is a different marriage.
Studies and everyday observation both show that when the wifeâs earnings match or exceed the husbandâs, the chance of separation goes up.
Not because money is evil, but because the old agreement about who provides and who decides has been rewritten without anyone admitting it. Many couples cannot manage the new version.
Staying in Nigeria with a solid income keeps the original agreement alive. The man remains the main provider. The wife still has status and comfort without having to trade her time and energy for survival money.
Family life is less stressed, and there is more room for respect in the direction the man is used to receiving it.
That is why my advice is to stay and keep building rather than chasing the idea that relocation automatically makes both of you richer and happier.
For many, it just makes both of you tired and less sure who is in charge of the house.
I hope you now understand better.
End.

How to marry a wife in Nigeria.
1. Go to your parents and tell them that you want to marry your girlfriend (which they must have known about before), and seek their permission to discuss your plans with her parents or other relevant people.
2. Once they grant you permission, you tell your girlfriend to inform her family that you will be visiting them.
3. After she tells them, go to see them alone (they must have known you before then) and politely tell them your intentions, letting them know that you have also discussed it with your parents. Her mother doesn't have to be present throughout your discussion with her father.
4. After discussing with him, her father can invite her and her mother to join you.
5. He will then tell them what you said, and ask his daughter if she is willing to be your wife.
6. Once she says yes, her father will then ask you to come with your people after he informs his kindred about your intentions to marry his daughter.
7. Then his kindred will obtain their marriage list and send it to him.
8. On the day of your second official visit, you may choose to go with your close friend, brother, or even your parents for a proper introduction, and the list may be provided to them on that day, or sent to them later.
Note that what both of your parents (hers and yours) are expected to do after you inform them is to secretly conduct some vetting and ask questions about both of you, your family background, history, etc., from others.
After all this has been done, you can then decide to propose to her (if you wish), because it's all a public show if you ask me.
Regardless, if all that has been done, is she going to humiliate you publicly by rejecting your proposal?
The answer is No.
So, if you're the type of man that fancies all those "serenren", make sure that you follow the right steps.
Stop being a sissy by ignoring your parents, her parents, and proposing to a woman publicly.
It's unafrican, it's disrespectful and it makes you look like you were not properly raised in that light.

If you want peace in your marriage, be a kind provider most of the time.
Pay your rent, pay the school fees of your children, provide food for them, and take good care of your wife.
Any man that can do this, can lead his wife.
Even if his wife has her own money.
Except she has a terrible unbringing.
The secret to the peaceful marriage that I am experiencing today, is because God has been merciful to me and I provide for all the needs of my family.
And she was raised from a very good family.
I don't depend on my wife for survival.
And her family is proud of me.
Once my wife annoys me and I threaten to report her to her family, she'll start to beg me.
All round, God blessed me through my marriage.
And I'll marry my lovely wife again, in my next world.

If you and your wife earn a a combined income of N500k per month as Nigerians living in Nigeria, you're a poor couple.
You'll doubt me because you are used to suffering.
And you'll think that you have money.
You no get shishi.

My father died before his late elder sister died.
He was so close to his elder sister.
My father trained her eldest son and opened a store for him.
Everything was good.
My father died and she was present at his burial with her children and we all buried my father in peace.
When she died, I was in Lagos and could not attend her burial.
My elder sister attended.
Where she was married to is far away from her paternal home (my father's village).
I spent over N2m to transport my father's people to her place for the burial ceremony.
In our tradition, when a married woman dies, her children or her husband's people are supposed to give the people from her paternal home a live goat as their rite.
During her marriage ceremony, a live goat was given to her husband's people as a part of tradition too.
So it's expected that a live goat will be given back at her burial.
That signifies a formal dissolving of their union.
After sending such money for my father's kindred to attend the burial, there were no canopies or even food for them.
My people left in anger.
My sister was so disappointed.
I called my cousin who my father trained to ask why that happened?
"The thing we join us together don end. You send any money for burial?"
I reminded him that he could not defy traditional rites and he should do the needful as the first son.
He hung up on me.
My people left.
Few years later, 2 of his siblings have died in the most mysterious ways and his father also died not too long ago.
These were people that I and my siblings were close to.
But none of us attended their burials.
Not even my kindred because according to them, they're owing them their traditional rites.
My late father and his late sister are gone.
But their children are no longer in good terms.
May their souls continue to rest in peace.
End.

No need to cry.
Unfortunately she is correct.
A man that is âdownâshould be shameless enough to have zero egos.
Personally, I would have responded with something that will hit her ego big time.
After that, she will learn to pause her mouth when it wants to run.
That was how

Story:
A 41-year-old man with three wives (they live in separate houses) is complaining that his newest and youngest wife (27) just got a job paying âŚ500k a month.
And this is exactly a month before his birthday; and didnât make any gesture for him.
Not even airtime.
He says he already gives her N300k monthly as pocket money and has never heard of any loans, yet she told him she had âoffset all her loans and obligationsâ and would celebrate his birthday at the end of the following month.
Meanwhile, his other two wives (one stay-at-home, one PhD student) spent heavily on his birthday even though they donât have jobs, to the point he was scolding them that it was too much.
He also says she recently came home from the market wearing a N4 million gold ring.
He had already bought iPhone 18 Pro Max phones for all three wives and planned to give them out at his sonâs birthday next week.
Now he wants to withhold the new wifeâs phone because he feels unappreciated, disrespected, and that sheâs at the bottom of his priority list. He asked if he was being petty.
Conversation (transcribed as is):
Him: Iâm waiting for her now at the end of the month to say oya I got this for you or Iâll take you somewhere. Iâll outrightly reject it bcs I feel Iâm at the bottom of her priorities lists. Not that I even celebrate birthdays sir or her money means anything to me bcs compared to what I earn hers is insignificant. Itâs just feels disrespectful, not appreciated and dismissive. I bought all my wives 18pro Max intending to give them at my sonâs birthday next week , now I feel like withholding hers since it seems she canât make any sacrifices for anyone other than herself. Am I being petty sir?
Me: đđđđ
How old is your new wife?
Him: Lol, 27
Me: And how old are you?
Him: 41
Me: Is she also the youngest amongst the wives?
Him: Yes
Me: Okay, how much is her new salary?
Him: 500k
Me: Okay.
I donât want to answer your question, because my response will be funny đđ
Him: Lol, Agba just answer please
Me: So you want to withhold giving her the 18 pro max and give to your other two wives?
Him: Yes
Me: Are you a Muslim?
Him: Yes
Me: Okay, but didnât Allah command that you should love all your wives equally?
Him: No sir. Itâs justly not equally. Allah said itâs impossible to love equally rather you must be just
Me: Okay.
Do they all live with you in the same house?
Him: No. Each has her house
Me: Very good đ
So itâs possible that she will not know that you gave the other wives the phones?
Him: She wonât
Me: Then go ahead and do what you want to do.
Him: But do you think Iâm being petty?
Me: Sometimes, itâs good to be petty. And I completely understand you.
Him: Gbam! Thank you sir
Question for the audience:
Is he overreacting, or is withholding the phone justified here?
AJD.

I know it may seem glutenous or a waste of money, but a 6 boiled eggs breakfast is one of the cheapest high protein meals you can have.
4 egg whites without the yolk plus 2 with is roughly about 27g of protein and 200 calories. Not to mention how easy it is to make.
