Trivia! Is this a 3rd century biblical manuscript or a children's book 3 weeks after purchase?

I want to make videos for theological/philosophical YouTube and use a background that consists of a massive bookshelf with only 3 books. I think that would be fun.

One thing would be leadership that cares more about balanced exegeses of scripture than life application messages and story time. I think the latter has created a very shallow and man focused form of Christianity for many in America.
What are churches in America missing?

Regardless of the history of this conflict in #Israel, the judgment of Yahweh waits for anyone one would kidnap women and children off the streets. Repent and turn to Jesus Christ.

I had the privilege of teaching a class about Biblical apologetics last Sunday at my church! Here it is for anyone who is interested. 💛 youtu.be/lVeKY1pSx_s?si=HUDA…

...people think that Christianity is you doing all the righteous things you hate & avoiding all the wicked things you love in order to go to Heaven. No, that's a lost man with religion. A Christian is a person whose heart has been changed; they have new affections. - Paul Washer

Hating is not a good replacement for thinking. He says that “the Christian answer to what is a woman, is a house slave and incubator.” The Christian answer includes… 1) Women made in the image of God (as opposed to merely being intelligent animals). House slave and incubator? What a terrible lie. 2) Women being told by God to have dominion (that’s quite a lot of authority) over the earth. 3) Women being given full status as coheirs with Christ. This is emphasized many times in Scripture. It may seem like a small thing to the uninformed but to a Christian this is absolutely massive. 4) Husbands are told to self-sacrificially love their wives as they love themselves. To treat them with the absolute highest kindness and consideration. The Bible even goes so far as to warn husbands their prayers before God can be fruitless if they mistreat their wives. 5) Yet, because there are role differences between husbands and wives you say “house slave and incubator.” Never mind the countless Christian women who would laugh at this. I could go on but the basic idea is that hating Christianity, for some, has replaced actually thinking about it. Surely someone will assume I’ve made all this up, but it’s sitting there in the Bible, where it has been for quite a long time. I realize I’m not likely to break through with this gentleman. But sharing these conversations publicly can often break through with a lot of other people.

Always always always check to see if they are using a Bible verse or passage in harmony with its original meaning in context. This one habit will save you mountains of pain and keep you from wandering down many wrong paths. Check the context.

Sin is missing the mark and doing what is offensive before a holy God. We offend God by not keeping his commandments. You can’t love God without doing so. I agree that hating our neighbor is a sin. But judging them wisely and telling them the truth about their sin is love.

It’s the same reason why any inconsistent Bible utilizing faith practice is around: Tradition is a powerful force.
I can’t believe the KJV-only view is still around.

The way we learn informs what we believe. We live in a headline society that often doesn't address an idea long enough to thoughtfully defend it or deal with objections. Debate is a lost art. We have to remember the importance of reading and honest long form conversation.

People don’t mind you insisting that Jesus is true if you also allow for a definition of “Jesus” that is sufficiently watered down. This can make it seem like evangelism is benefited by watering down Jesus and what he calls his followers to do. “Hey, this works!” At what cost?

One of the major issues with the progressive church is that they keep select biblical categories about God and our relationship to him, and reject others. Then they do backflips trying to justify reasons to keep "God is good" while rejecting "man is sinful".

He uses a very arbitrary standard here of “for the first 1,000 years, when the church was one”. Conflict was already happening within the church during Paul’s time. There has always been conflict. Conflict didn’t switch on at 1001. The word is our divine revelation, not councils.
Francis Chan epistemology is councils over exegesis😱

The Jordan Neely death is a tragedy. We all should agree. With that said, people on social media, on both sides, immediately jump to the most extreme conclusions without all the facts. All of the following can be true at once: - Jordan Neeley did NOT deserve to die. - The man who choked him may not have been racist. - The man who choked him probably could have used far less force, but he still may have simply wanted to help. - Just because Neely had a previous record doesn’t mean he deserved to die or deserved extreme force. - Just because Neely was peacefully dancing in prior videos doesn’t mean he couldn’t have been a threat. Instead of politicizing the situation and trying to use it to drive a wedge between us, let’s calm down and figure out how we can stop this from happening again.

Many statements sound loving and nice until you test them. This is amazing.
