When an iOS dev gets a $9.99 sale, they celebrate like they’ve made it. Then Apple takes its cut, taxes show up, and suddenly that β€œbusiness” can’t even afford lunch. πŸ˜πŸ˜‚

I noticed my 'Stud Finder' iOS app is making some bucks and I decide to improve the UI and user interactions.

Day 1 of building Mockup Studio, an iOS app for turning your designs into polished product mockups (tees, hoodies, mugs, bags, phone cases and more). Onboarding is done, and the home screen and template gallery are live. The video is the actual app, not a mockup of a mockup. πŸ˜… What would you want a mockup app to do that others don’t? #buildinpublic #indiedev

Today, I decided to improve Mockup Studio’s onboarding UI and animations. Rate it from 0 to 10. Making the first impression count with a smoother, more engaging onboarding experience. Always improving, one detail at a time. πŸš€

I’ve been building Mockup Studio, an iOS app for turning your designs into realistic product mockups. This is a full 2-minute tour of the real app: β†’ Pick a product (tees, hoodies, mugs, bags, caps, cans) β†’ Drop in your artwork, edit text live in 3D β†’ Switch scenes and colors in one tap β†’ Export as an image or an animated video β†’ Themes, accent colors, app icons β†’ Templates for everything No mock screens. It’s all screen recording from the simulator. Building in public. What should I add next? πŸ‘‡ #buildinpublic #iOSdev #indiehackers #SwiftUI

One thing I'm learning as an indie app developer: Shipping the app is only one part of the job. You also have to figure out: β†’ How people discover it β†’ Why they choose to install it β†’ Whether they understand the value β†’ What makes them stay β†’ What makes the business sustainable I'm working on all five, one experiment at a time. What has been the hardest part of growing your own product?

Your app can be great and still struggle to get downloads. I'm learning that the product page is part of the product experience. The icon earns attention. The screenshots communicate value. The description helps users decide. I'm experimenting with how I present my apps and measuring what changes. A good-looking screenshot is nice. A screenshot that helps the right user understand the product is better.
