Almost Two years ago, myself and our team at @reedapt set out to build one of the most ambitious projects to come out of Africa and the world. A universal translator that could enable anyone to speak any language without having to learn them like in Star Trek but for our Pastor, so he can preach in multiple languages and countries simultaneously. The problem with existing video translation tools is that they're not built for the African Context; speaking in tongues, code switching, incantations, accents, all of these stand in the way of western built models being able to accurately translate what has been said into another language because they just cannot comprehend what has been said. Dreams are fine until you realize how much resources you need to power them. Our journey started great at first, we had some support but then lost it, it was like we were stranded in the ocean in a wooden boat without food and water. No AWS credits, no experience, no investor, no money. Since then we have seen the mighty hand of God in our team. Everything we've needed to embark on this mission has been provided, we've been tested - severally, we almost gave up a few months ago because building the first step to reaching the goal of contextually accurate real-time interpretation is incredibly difficult when you're the underdog. But today I'm glad to announce that Reedapt Dubbing is live, free and currently in deployment with churches all over the world to aid in the circulation of the gospel.
