There’s something so special about bringing your ideas to life, truly think about how blessed you are to see something so vividly in your mind and then have the courage to go out in the world and create it
When you’ve lost yourself more
than once, all it takes is that last time to shake things up and for you to never allow yourself to go through it again. That commitment might be the most important factor in rebuilding yourself.
Speak to yourself the way you would speak to your younger self, that’s who you’re really talking to

You can be grateful for where you are and still be honest that you want more. Both can sit at the same table.

When you can uphold the expectations you set for yourself, then it doesn’t seem so unreasonable to expect the same of others. But there is the question: are the expectations you’ve set for yourself ones you can eventually reach or do you keep moving the goalposts?
The best moments are gifted to you, giving you insight into things you’ve been seeking confirmation for; they always come packaged in ways you couldn’t even imagine, yet they serendipitously fit with your current state of mind and are the missing piece to the puzzle you need.
If you look at experiences as stops along the way that you’re meant to have instead of roadblocks, it not only softens the blow of your own expectations but it also forces you to be in the moment. It’s dangerous to look at life as a checklist of things to do. Slow down.

The most beautiful aspect of living in alignment with the emotional truths in your heart and the existential truths in your soul is that you are enveloped by synchronicities, to the point that it almost feels a little absurd to still call them such, as though they were occurrences, for it becomes a way of being.

This scene encapsulates what the entire documentary is about: a relentless pursuit of greatness, no matter the cost. It showcases everything that comes with a winning mindset, the good and the bad. It’s very psychological. Without a doubt, the best sports documentary.
When you acknowledge but don’t participate in other people’s projections of you, it becomes easier to navigate.
When you feel like weren’t afforded the luxury of taking your time to come into your own due to external factors like having to grow up quickly or difficult circumstances thrown your way, you tend to be forced into personal growth. You need to let go of being in survival mode.

So glad this is being talked about. You lose parts of yourself when you constantly look to others for guidance about what you should do and like. It’s so important to be in tune with what catches your attention, your likes and dislikes and why you like/believe said thing.
Replying to @butterbooter
to do something because “everyone does it” or believe something because someone else believes it cannot be a respectable position. that is why taste is dying. that is how you become sloppy and insignificant to yourself
