not even in lenora? that’s okay! we’re already knocking out a bunch of new firsts. see, you’ll be a seasoned pro with fall festivities by halloween.

it’s the tallest ride at the carnival. just like in the movies——it’s this big wheel with a bunch of carts, and it takes you up to where you can see the whole town.

are you kidding? that’s one of the best parts of the festival! have you been on a ferris wheel before?

well, sorta. they won’t 𝑙𝑖𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑦 make you incognito, but the glasses will obscure you. we can even visit the face paint booth and add a little extra coverage! it’ll be great.

no, el, i meant—— nothing. ❪ faint snicker. ❫ yeah, of course. i already have the superman shirt, and then you can borrow one of my dress shirts. i think i even have the perfect pair of glasses for you! i’ll just punch out the lenses. you’ll be so incognito.

yeah! uh, lois lane in 𝘴𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘬𝘴 … i don’t have the legs for a pencil skirt, and nancy will also kill me if another outfit from her closet goes missing.

you know, superman! remember, the superhero? he’s just like you. and i guess i——i’d be lois lane.

yeah, all the time. some people show up as witches, or goblins. last year, i even saw princess leia! and there’s face painters, too, so … you could definitely get away with hiding in plain sight.

yeah! you could say it’s one of the few cool things about this town. if you’re interested in going, i can take you. but, if you’re not comfortable being out yet, we can always just have pumpkin carving at my house.

seriously? parents are such dorks … ❪ chuckling. ❫ oh——yeah, the town hosts this carnival every year. there’s all kinds of games and snacks, even a few rides, too … that interest you?

𝑦𝑜𝑢 want to go apple bobbing? that’s a really niche thing to be interested in … sure! they have it every year at the fall festival, anyway.

well, we’ve never had a chance to 𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑦 enjoy fall properly together without you always being on house arrest. this year can commemorate our first! ☺️

y–yeah ..? why do you sound so shocked? i can handle a carving knife.
