Here's a number worth keeping on your radar: last week, US spot Bitcoin ETFs lost about $228 million, while Ether ETFs saw roughly $320 million in outflows. That's around $549 million leaving the two markets combined.

I wouldn't use ETF flows as a standalone trading signal. Price, positioning and macro conditions all matter. But these numbers are a useful reality check when social media starts declaring that institutional money is rushing back in.

For now, I want to see a sustained change in flows — not one positive session that gets turned into a whole bull-market thesis.
Guilty or not guilty? 🥺

Stablecoins might be crypto's least flashy product — and one of its most important. Nobody needs to fall in love with a dollar token. They just need it to move money faster, cheaper and reliably. That's a very different kind of adoption.

October 19 is an important date for U.S. stablecoin regulation. Today is the deadline for comments on the Treasury's proposed rules covering payment-stablecoin issuance, offers, and sales under the GENIUS Act.

This is the less glamorous part of crypto adoption, but arguably one of the most consequential. Issuing a stablecoin isn't just about keeping a token pegged to $1. Companies also have to think about eligibility, compliance, reserves.

Clearer rules could make it easier for traditional financial firms to participate. They could also raise the cost of operating for smaller issuers. Regulation doesn't automatically kill innovation. But it does change who can compete — and on what terms.
Asian markets bounced on Friday after Thursday's brutal selloff. Japan's Nikkei recovered around 1.8%. South Korea's KOSPI gained roughly 2.8%. Does that mean the AI panic is over? Not necessarily.

A rebound after a sharp selloff can mean bargain hunters are stepping in. It can also mean sellers are taking a breather. The real test is whether buyers stick around when the next wave of uncertainty hits. One green session is relief. A sustained recovery is something else.

September CPI came in hotter than expected. U.S. consumer prices rose 0.6% month over month and 3.7% year over year. Gasoline prices jumped 7.1% during the month.

Still, the direction of travel matters. If inflation stays sticky, the market may need to reprice its expectations for monetary policy. That can be uncomfortable even if the underlying economy remains resilient.

For crypto, I think the mistake would be waiting for a crypto-specific headline to explain every move. Sometimes Bitcoin is reacting to Bitcoin. Sometimes it's reacting to the price of money.
Three things are making markets uncomfortable right now: Oil is expensive. Brent crude has climbed above $100 a barrel again, keeping energy costs and inflation risks in focus.

A cooler CPI reading could improve sentiment, but it wouldn't magically solve the other issues. Likewise, a hot reading wouldn't automatically end the bull market. The point is to stop looking for one headline that explains everything.

Markets are balancing several competing forces at once. The next move will depend on which one becomes dominant.
