11:58 and all the alarms in my house go off to remind us all of the climate crisis we are in. 2 minutes to midnight. It's time for the world to wake up. #ClimateStrike #FridaysForFuture

Maryland's Special Session has begun! This week we'll overturn numerous vetoes & vote on congressional redistricting maps. I haven't sat on the House floor in almost two years. Good to be back.

I feel betrayed by the UK, US and EU. They didn't step up as leaders. They didn't secure money for countries like Uganda that are already struggling with the impacts of climate change. They didn't secure enough concrete plans to keep the world below 1.5. 2.4 is a death sentence us.

We are still working. This is the point in Sine Die when elation (we did AMAZING work for the people!) and despair (why hast thou forsaken my bill, Lord) wrestle for control of one's spirit.

Last day of session. First tiktok. (Next one will feature dance and yodeling.) I got nervous and forgot to highlight bills on: housing, immigrant protections, better bus service, trauma informed care, climate action & much more.

Sigh. Too often, opponents of #climateaction cry "it's too expensive!" Alas, they know the cost of everything and the value of nothing. Thanks to Del. Sheila Ruth for defending #HB414 Climate Solutions Act. #Working4MD
