After spending some time shooting a coastline (check out my previous post) I headed back to the Point Riche lighthouse to see if I could get in a quick shot of it before calling it a day.
It was a little breezy but the pools along the rocks were sheltered enough to create a reflection. The sun was down but still bright enough to create some soft warm light.
I think I might put this one on my 2028 Calendar! What do you think?

I've a cosmos plant by the back door that is looking so wonderful right now.
I didn't plant it as such, just sprinkled last year's seeds liberally at it's feet this time last year.
Collected the rest and grew them round the garden.
Cosmos is the gift that keeps on giving 🌸

Hadn't seen much this morning in Central Park until this Red-bellied Woodpecker appeared at the grassy knoll. I managed to get one shot as it peeled away--but it was worth the effort! What a magnificent bird! 😍😍😍 #woodpeckers #CentralPark #birdcpp

Hello, Calgary! 1st day of @Bouchercon 2026. Great, as always, connecting with fellow thriller writers.

Dropped in to Mud Lake for a bit yesterday afternoon. The exciting thing was more Wigeons in different places and in the sunshine. There also was a Great Blue doing its thing, always fun to watch.

Keels, Newfoundland, last fall.
This scene is actually on the cover of my 2027 Scenes of Newfoundland calendar.
With the sun breaking through briefly and some dark clouds it made this place stand out. I like how the gravel path winds past the houses toward the ocean. There’s a lot of character in this little place!
An easy choice for my Calendar!

ALT A comic of two foxes, one of whom is blue, the other is green. In this one, Green arrives at the scene, finding Blue neck deep in a hole. Green: Do you need help? Blue: I'm ok, I'm just in a hole. Green: Do you need help getting out of there? Blue looks around himself nonchalantly as Green sits down. Blue: No, I can get out just fine, once I figure out how. Blue and Green frown at each other. Green: Don't make me come down there. Blue: But then we're both stuck.

Precious!
Central Park is flooded suddenly with Ruby-crowned Kinglets. I captured one fluttering like a hummingbird by a clump of asters. A few years ago I had never heard of a kinglet! 👑👑👑 #Kinglet #CentralPark #birdcpp

On the first evening of the workshop we headed to Point Riche to check out the Caribou and Lighthouse. While the group headed to the Caribou, I came across this interesting coastline.
If you have been following me for a while you know I love a good coastline. This one was new to me so I was like a kid in a candy store!
This was a coastline begging to be photographed with all those converging lines heading to the centre out to the ocean as the sun lit it up. I also loved the strange formations. Anyone have an idea how they were formed?

I'm always excited when I start seeing more Northern Cardinals in Central Park. Here's a stunner posing on a fence with hints of fall in the background. 🥰🥰🥰 #Cardinals #CentralPark #birdcpp
Dreamed that Sam Joseph had a German Shepherd dog partner, and the duo were trying to get to Mariam before Ali. They were climbing twisting staircases. Sam threw a piano down the stairs to prevent Ali from catching them.💥

Throwing more ideas into the plot drawer: what if Sam Joseph received the Charlie Hudson treatment? No amount of retcon that can't be overcome with @mccloskeybooks' fabulous writing! #DamascusStation fans would be as ecstatic as #HudsonAndRex fans (no fan campaign necessary 😅).
Woke up & chose chaos today, so here's another idea for the plot drawer: What if Sam/Mariam had a kid Sam didn't know about? Bonus points if the kid's name was Valerie or Owen. Obviously, as a shipper, I'm less concerned about the logistics of that than @mccloskeybooks. 😅🌟
