Wise (if unlikely to be heeded!) words from St Ignatius (b otd 1491): Be slow to speak, and only after having first listened quietly, so that you may understand the meaning, leanings, and wishes of those who do speak. Thus you will better know when to speak and when to be silent.

"A world in which the White House is allied to the Kremlin was, until now, the stuff of paranoid fiction. Manchurian candidates and red presidents were fantasies, dark tales that Americans told themselves, like ghost stories around a campfire." @RadioFreeTom: theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/1…

Republican Senator Thom Tillis SLAMS Trump for suspending Russia sanctions: “Beyond irresponsible. What part of enforcing a law passed 86-11 by the Senate does the President and his advisors not understand? It’s unconscionable that this administration is capitulating to a Russian dictator who illegally invaded Ukraine and butchers innocent civilians every single day. If the President wants to actually bring down energy prices, he can do it by solving the Iran problem, not by doing a solid for Vladimir Putin.”
Trump signed an executive order Friday suspending sweeping tariffs and sanctions targeting Russia, just two days before they were set to take effect under the Lindsey Graham sanctions law he signed last month. Trump told Congress the move was in the U.S. “national interest.”

Alex Gibney: “There was an estimate that what [Elon Musk] did by suddenly cutting USAID would cost through disease and starvation as many as 14M lives. Even if you discount that, we know within a year of those cuts where they were literally burning food going to starving children, 500K children died. This is really a crime against humanity, but he makes a joke about it, I put USAID into the woodchipper. What he put into the woodchipper were children”

Reuters is reporting that Trump called off Ukraine's Starshield technology, and while the White House denies this, Elon Musk took to social media to call Trump out on it. Musk stated that the capabilities for such a decision ultimately land with POTUS, undercutting the story sold by the White House, and reminding us all that Trump continues to fall absurdly short in the support Ukraine needs from this administration. Full story covered in today's show. Link in comments!

Lots of folks in the pro-life movement browbeat and shamed people for not supporting Trump, and now we have more abortions, the generic abortion pill, a completely watered-down GOP plank on abortion, and public executions. Absolutely pathetic and very, very sad.

As a homicide detective, I can say with all of my being that there is no lesson learned in seeing someone die. But there is a price. And that price is your peace. Your decency. And the soul of our society. We don’t have to be this way, this fake tough but real ugly way. Stop

A message to all sane Republicans: He pardoned 1,600 violent criminals. You said nothing. He bulldozed the East Wing. You said nothing. He interfered with the release of the Epstein files. You said nothing. He took over the Kennedy Center and renamed it after himself. You said nothing. He accepted a $400 million airplane as a personal gift. You said nothing. He threatened Canada, Cuba, Denmark, Greenland, Venezuela, Colombia, and Brazil. You said nothing. He tariffed just about everyone but Russia, causing inflation and instability worldwide. You said nothing. He attacked a nation during mediated negotiations. You said nothing. His ill-conceived war killed 175 children on day one. You said nothing. He alienated and insulted our allies. You said nothing. His ICE Army terrorized and murdered U.S. citizens. You said nothing. He committed murder on the high seas. You said nothing. He co-opted the Justice Department and directed it to prosecute his political enemies. You said nothing. It's time to start talking!

ICE murdered two American citizens in cold blood. And, even after all this time, not a single person has been held accountable. Shameful. Utterly shameful.

The horror has come to our city: ICE has shot a person in Austin this morning. As the facts emerge, I am demanding a full, independent investigation, immediate release of the body camera footage, and accountability for any ICE officer who broke the law. Over and over, ICE has shot people and then lied about what happened. We can see the lies with our own eyes. We will demand truth, transparency and accountability.

facebook.com/share/p/1bwpXVs… If the Mohler Amendment passes what took place this morning at Franklin Avenue Baptist Church in New Orleans, would mean that a church pastored once by the first and only Black president of the SBC, would be disfellowshipped from the SBC, because Sis. Luter spoke to “the gathered assembly” this morning for Women’s Day. We must not let this train wreck happen! The Mohler Amendment as presently constructed would probably eliminate 90% of AA SBC churches from continuing as Southern Baptist, because about that many at least once a year empower a woman to be the primary speaker on Women’s Day at the regular church hour in the gathered assembly. Please go to Indianapolis and vote against The Mohler Amendment.
