“Elite” youth teams are an invention of adults, for adults. When kids are selected young, it causes: 1. More sport-specific practice for the few 2. A false sense of early growth 3. A “radiating effect” of needing more sport-specific practice to get picked 4. Coaches to judge success on winning, not development Long-term, it’s kids that are the greatest losers in this process.

plumber, restauranter, farmer, fisherman, and self-employed professional, etc.. If this is only 0.1% of the population then as a country we are in severe trouble. This also affects the transfer of assets to the next generation.

Most small business owners do not have a pension, as they spend their money on building their company. Their pension is when they sell their business is the capital gains. It is not the ultra-wealthy tax it is a tax eventual tax on every entrepreneur the hardware store owner,

News flash: most business owners don't have pension plans. What they have is a business that they were planning to sell when the time comes to retire. The capital gains hike is a direct attack on the retirements of those who spent their careers building the Canadian economy.

The media spin on the #Budget2024 is that the capital gains tax rate going from 50 to 66% will only affect the wealthy top 1% of Canadians. I would say family farms just took a hard kick in the nuts. My guess is the vast majority of farmers according 2 them we are the 1% wealthy

Being old enough to actually remember the 1982 budget debacle and having a lot of respect for David Dodge, this is a truly scary 2024 budget prediction. ctvnews.ca/politics/why-one-…

A note to sports parents: When I coached HS & college, the kids who thrived & love of the sport grew tended to be the ones who had parents who supported, but didn't try to be the coach. They knew their role and it wasn't assistant coach. It made a big difference.

We suck at predicting talent development. We're not good at it. Accept that. Now, if that's the case, why wouldn't we want to keep more people in the pipeline to see how they develop? Too often, especially in youth sports, we talent ID too quickly. We're fooling ourselves.

It's so sad hearing stories about people can't afford to live in many places in Canada. If you know someone, tell them about #Saskatchewan. It's affordable and there is in fact things to see and do here. I moved in 2006 from Banff and so glad I did. Amazing people, great quality of life. #exploresask

There is a big difference between needs and wants...when you get 9 out of 10 wants but going to hold out for the 10th. Maybe if that 10th was the most important that is the only thing you should of been focused on.

Liberals, listen up. If you get a call or an email asking for a donation to the LPC, ask them to send you $100 and tell them you'll donate $75 back, just like the brand new Canada Carbon Rebate. Tell them they will get back more than they pay you.

Trade is fine, good-we depend on trade. But a question to the carbon tax loving economists that keep saying it’s insignificant…Recall that Ottawa mushroom farm paying 6 figures a year in CTax? They compete with this. How does that reduce emissions on mushrooms?

#GoldenGlobes gift bag is worth $500,000. I think that money could be better spent on people that actually need it. But that is the world we live in.
