Why the NFL doesn’t feel the same anymore:
NIL - Some are opting to stay in college, and many are less motivated when they arrive. Result: worse athletes on field, less enjoyable to watch
Injuries - More players are getting hurt. Result: worse athletes on field, less enjoyable to watch
Officials - Officiating has been terrible. The wrong team being penalized for a flag? Too many flags? Highly questionable calls. Result: less enjoyable to watch.
Announcers: The days of Madden are gone. Al Michaels is awful now. Jason Kelce is worse. Result: less enjoyable to watch.
Brain farts: QBs unaware the game is on the line (Jayden Daniels), coaches who don’t know how to use timeouts (too many to list). Result: less enjoyable to watch.
Timing of games: International games are too early for PT (6:30 am). Thursday games can’t be flexed. And we are missing half the first quarter of many games on Sunday because of overlap. Result: less games are viewed; fan frustration.
Virtue signaling: The league pretends to care about certain issues (player safety, violence against women) to gain favor with fans, but their actions tell another story. Result: bitter fanbase.
Greed 💰: Adding a 17th game is great for money but bad for injuries (see above). International games are great for money but bad for injuries and timing (see above). Result: bitter fanbase.
Streaming services: Fans who want to watch every game need to download multiple services. Result: confusion, bitter fanbase.
Corporate influence: More commercials and ads shoved in our face (think: Redzone channel). ESPN purchased by NFL - biased reporting, etc. Result: bitter fanbase.

Young men don’t want your Nazi bullshit because they have gay and trans friends, their favorite coworker is a 50 year old Mexican guy, and they noticed that you’re scaring the hoes

I've been in politics for a quarter century. It's hard to express how staggering it is to see a conversation like this on corporate US media. The Morning Joe panel gobsmacked by the directness of @AbdulElSayed's points.

Both the left & the right have to come to an agreement about this shit.
This is an insane image.

Jennifer Welch: “I want to say this Chuck Schumer: we won in spite of you and we will do everything on this channel, everything, to make sure that you are not the Senate Majority Leader. You do not represent us. You’ve made it crystal clear who your loyalties are to. What you did to Angie Nixon, I will never ever forgive you. Quit taking victory laps on Twitter like you won this. Nobody likes you”

I’m a big fan of single-issue bills. No more wrapping everything into one super complicated bill. Pass the agenda in pieces in a transparent way for everyone to understand. It’ll help us get more done with different coalitions on each issue.

I’ve come to think @elonmusk ended up doing Dems and progressives a huge favor by turning this place into a fetid swamp of feral right wing freaks where the most prominent members of their coalition post like cartoon movie villains and think it makes them look cool.
Cope
If there’s one thing I’ve learned in politics, it’s that when you win, it’s never as good as it seems (thank John Thune for blocking all our best bills).
And when you lose, it’s never as bad as it seems (we survived full Democrat control of DC under Biden).
Obama got destroyed by the tea party wave in his first midterm and still won re-election 2 years later.
The Democrat party has been hijacked by Islamic socialists and America is about to get a front court seat to their extremism.
Trump has always done better with a worthy enemy to fight. For 2 years he had no one big enough to punch.
Now he’s got 2 - the communist House and the Senate.

Has a person ever been more wrong about everything?
I nailed all my election predictions in 2024, not so much in 2022. Here are my 2026 calls with a reminder that all of you should get out and vote. Byron Donalds wins Florida Gov comfortably. Senate: Ken Paxton wins Texas, Mike Rogers wins Michigan, Jon Husted wins Ohio, Ashley Hinson wins Iowa, Susan Collins wins Maine, the real Dan Sullivan wins Alaska, Kansas, South Carolina & Nebraska aren’t close, Republicans win senate races easily in those states. Polls are badly biased against Republicans for the 16th out of the past 17 election cycles.

Nailed it Clay, do more politics

There is no blue wave materializing so far as of 3 p.m. ET today. Republicans are surging in Florida, and I think the polls are about to be proven wrong yet again. Democrats predicted a massive wave, but the voting data tells a different story. We'll see how tonight unfolds.
