Incredibly interesting

An amazing video showcasing Bournemouth's pier & seafront, and the @dmbtourismaward winning Hswrk from @jethrowatson. One of many people doing great events in our area.

Every "another blow to the high street" headline reinforces the narrative that the (actual) high street near to them is rubbish, dead, and not worth visiting - which in most cases is far from reality.
And when Homebase isn't even on "the high street", it's truly hard to stomach.

And @MailOnline too:
"The beloved DIY chain could be yet another major blow to the British high street."
A high street chain collapses and it's "a blow to the high street".
A retail park chain collapses and it's still "a blow to the high street".
Infuriating! 😡 – at Dunston, England

Councils have essentially become social and children's care funding agencies, which, as most people don't use those services, means they don't really understand where all their council tax is going...
Great fun (and lots of learning) meeting fellow lib dems in Bath with @libdemlocalgov. I feel too old to be a next gen person, but next gen I am. Great to meet @LibDemRobReiss & @HannahPerkin FRL as well.
The weather today... can we go back to Saturday night @artsbythesea
And finally, I went out with the Bournemouth Street pastor's last night. Amazing people provide a helping hand in the NTE, in many situations where police and ambulance would be unnecessary but the 'only' option. They're open to visitors if you want to see the 'other side'.
A late afternoon and evening @artsbythesea . There is so much to see and do, there must have been several thousand people down on the beach to watch the honeypot come to life through fire. An incredible event delivered by some amazing people @BCPCouncil @ace_southwest

fantastic to spend afternoon at @bournemouthuni freshers fair. So many students keen to share their support for @LibDems in their home towns now represented by our wonderful MPs like Newbury @LeeRJdillon Yeovil @Adamjamesdance Glastonbury @SarahDykeLD & Hazel Grove @Lisa_Smart
Great to head to @SUBUBournemouth freshers fair and talk to some of their new students with @VikkiSlade72 & @_Brownie_1981
In most cases these young people new to our area are already feeling the issues our wider communities are.
A pleasure to speak at the launch of @artsbythesea this evening standing in for @andym_editor, apparently the shortest speech he's ever been involved in.... There is so much happening this weekend. Go check it out! artsbythesea.co.uk/

The people at PCT do some incredible work across Poole. This is amazing news for them.
Bourne is one of the top 10 most deprived wards in the UK, but Poole Communities Trust is bringing hope, one meal & one skill at a time.
Thanks to #MillionaireStreet, £70,000 has been awarded to them so they can continue the amazing work they do in their community ❤️

Poole Quay was looking amazing at lunch for the Seafood & Sounds festival. Lovely atmosphere and some great music.
Great to attend the finalists announcement of the @dmbtourismaward last night. Added bonus to see @artsbythesea make it through as well! @andym_editor
