Let’s just pick a random number for argument. Skenes is worth $600 million over 10 years (not arguing Skenes value, just making a point). If the Dodgers, Mets, Yankees, Phillies, and Red Sox don’t have that, what incentives exist for the small market teams to pay it?
I would like to see Shohei play the outfield once or twice per week, followed by a rest day and off-day. If he pitches on Day One, DHs on Days Two and Three, Outfield on Days Four and Five, and Sits Days Six and Seven, that would be ideal.
Would you want to see Shohei Ohtani play in the outfield for the Dodgers next season? 🤔
He did so in Japan and a couple of games with the Angels and expressed a willingness to do so for the Dodgers in 2025.
It would also open the DH spot for Josue De Paula.
Of course, Ohtani is 32 and dealt with a knee issue this year.
Good morning card people! Good morning pop culture people! Can we call this Fonz Friday? @hwinkler4real
So, I am going to take Yankees players and put together the best possible team. I believe that is what the question is asking, but they always forget people.
P - Clemens
C - Berra
1B - Gehrig
2B - Soriano
3B - Boggs
SS - A-Rod
LF - Henderson
CF - Mantle
RF - Judge
DH - Ruth
Not having Babe Ruth or Mickey Mantle on this list is crazy to me. Nobody had the aura of those two. Ichiro and Jeter weren’t really “cool” in any way. They both seemed a little dry and lacking in personality. Not a criticism, but I even think Jeter was intentionally guarded.
Bo Jackson, June 5, 1989, the Kingdome, tied in the 10th.
Harold Reynolds tries to score from first on a Scott Bradley double to left. Bo gets to the ball near the warning track, turns and fires to the plate, and Reynolds is out.
Reynolds could run. It didn't matter. The Royals won that night, and people have been passing that clip around ever since.
Nobody else who ever played looked like that doing it.
Who's the coolest player you ever watched?

My conversation with Mike from the Pop Culture Basement Podcast Network is doing very, very well on The Domino Theory YouTube channel. It isn’t translating into new subscribers. Please help me on with that.
Game before an off-day, rest him. Let the fans know this is the plan. It will not lead to the dreaded “I spent $300 to come to this game and Shohei didn’t play” that management wants to avoid. The extended offseason of no WBC and probably a shortened regular season will help.
If they instituted a salary floor to go along with the cap, which one do you think Nutting would do w/ the Pirates?
1) Sign old players past their prime to chase milestone numbers, put butts in the sears, and sell jerseys.
2) Spend on young talent to finish 4th instead of 5th.
Loser Mentality: We need to keep the old-heads and their unwritten rules to make sure guys don’t celebrate after they hit dingers off of our team.
Winner Mentality: I not going to give up dingers to make sure guys don’t celebrate after they hit dingers off of our team.
