The first two bills I will be filing this session are both by members who have ascended to higher callings. Jon Rosenthal’s bill banning the practice of child marriage in Texas and James Talarico’s bill that would grant pregnant women the right to a divorce - because right now they cannot legally get divorced while pregnant, even if they are the victim of domestic violence.

As I get ready to go to my job at an adult day care in Alabama, my best hope is that Tommy Tubberville ignores us. My people are aged 21 and up, with all the brain stuff that can happen to a person, and most of the under 65s are on what is left of Medicaid in Alabama. It is a slog in this state but we make it, and I worry now. But for today I can walk in there w my head held high knowing that I voted for them, and I am sorry. They deserved better.
