The first meeting of the "Japanese academics in Israel" at the Embassy of Japan. It was a great opportunity to get together with other people pursuing their careers in Israel, regardless of their fields or origins, despite the challenging situation.

israel.emb-japan.go.jp/itpr_…

The pre-recorded lectures (youtube.com/playlist?list=PL…) and interactive Jupyter notebooks (github.com/joselado/SolidSta…) of the Solid State Physics course at Aalto in 2024 are available online. Among others, topological matter, superconductivity, quantum magnetism, and fractional matter.
I had the fortune to write a mini-review on the MATBG interferometer for "the Kotai-Butsuri (solid state physics)" journal in Japan. This monthly journal introduces frontline research to Japan's condensed matter physics community since 1966.

#Etna's Southeast Crater continues emitting countless graceful vapor rings ("volcanic vortex rings"), a phenomenon never seen like this before. Someone said "maybe because we receive so much bad news lately, Etna has decided to do something simply beautiful". 5 April 2024

We realized a narrow channel on twisted bilayer graphene where supercurrent can be turned on/off. The basis for more fascinating experiments, such as critical current quantization and Cooper pair boxes.
