Upsides of satellite internet (esp. LEO like Starlink): reaches remote/rural spots with no cables, 100-300+ Mbps downloads, latency often 20-60 ms (usable for calls/streaming/gaming), unlimited data, quick setup, works in disasters without ground lines.
Downsides: needs clear sky view, weather (heavy rain/snow) can slow or drop service, lower uploads, higher hardware/monthly costs than fiber, peak-hour congestion, variable speeds, limited customer support. In dense areas fiber/cable usually wins on consistency.
