#OxfamIreland's charity shops generated nearly half of its income in 2025. Thanks to everyone who donates & supports this work. Happy to pick up some great books/clothes at an #Oxfam shop in #Dublin while supporting communities in need. Every purchase of yours makes a difference.

Listening to this session, I am asking myself harder in Cambodia who gets to speak, who is heard, and who is silenced within #Cambodia's civic space and online environment? Eventually, whose voice and whose digital platforms for? #DigitalRights #OxfamIreland

I remember shortly after the 27 Dec 2025 ceasefire, Australian Embassy became the first foreign embassy to provide cash assistance to Cambodians displaced by the border conflict though @OxfamKH. Lovely to see @Oxfam's ED @AmitabhBehar come to #Cambodia. Hope he visits IDPs too🙏
Climate and energy, humanitarian assistance, access to water, gender equality and inclusive growth. Key areas where Australia and @OxfamKH are working together in partnership with 🇰🇭. Great to discuss our collaboration with @Oxfam Executive Director, Amitabh Behar, today.

Penalists of @OxfamIreland's digital rights symposium session highlight a recurring issue: digital technologies & policies are often designed without the voices of users. This make me think of #ASEAN's #DEFA! Isn't the digital divide & digital inequality a concern for ASEAN DEFA?

#PhnomPenh is about 6 times larger than #Dublin by land area and has nearly 4 times the population. Yet, Dublin has more than 200 public parks covering around 2,022 hectares. #PhoenixPark of 707 ha, which I visited, is among the largest urban #publicparks of any European capital.

Bluntly put, the report is for Cambodia to think! For and about #Cambodia, nothing more and nothing less 😴
Under President Trump’s leadership, the United States is dismantling scam operations that rely on human trafficking, using all available tools, including imposing sanctions on over 200 individuals and entities based on their involvement in these criminal enterprises. The United States will continue to hold accountable persons involved in scam operations. Learn more in this year’s Trafficking in Person’s Report: state.gov/reports/2026-traff…

As the IMF-World Bank Annual Meetings also discuss poverty reduction and community resilience in #Bangkok, will anyone, any CSO participants care & speak for the 20000+ Cambodians who remain displaced & unable to return home due to the #Thaimilitary occupation of their villages?
Civil society plays a vital role in shaping more inclusive and effective policies. Important to hear directly from civil society representatives at today’s Townhall at the #IMFMeetings and launch our new Guidance Note to strengthen engagement. imf.org/en/publications/poli…

They are indispensable for the coming #electionsKH. They and their members need space to contest #politicsKH.
Australia’s experience is that genuine political contest generates stronger governance. Met representatives from the Khmer Will, Candlelight and Grassroots Democratic parties today to discuss upcoming elections and the importance of civic space and political participation.

#Cambodia “will not become a safe haven” for #onlinescams, PM #HunManet pledged before key international law-enforcement partners, including UNODC, INTERPOL, the FBI, #China’s Ministry of Public Security, and the Lancang-Mekong law-enforcement center.
A few lines from Hun Manet at ICCOS in Phnom Penh this morning that stand out. “The online scam industry did not start in Cambodia. And it is not limited to Cambodia.” Cambodia “will not become a safe haven” for online scams. The crackdown is “not a campaign to promote our image.” And the biggest claim of all, Cambodia has now “completely cracked down on all large-scale scam locations” in the country. He also acknowledged that Cambodia’s exposure to the industry was tied to the growth of online gambling and casino-related businesses, with criminal networks exploiting property, regulatory gaps and cross-border telecommunications.

#AmitabhBehar of #Oxfam: The #UN was all about hope. Hope of a just and peaceful future. At the moment the world is torn apart by the #InequalityEmergency, the #ClimateCrisis, the wars all around. 3000 billionaires have a combined wealth of 18.3 trillion dollars that's almost the GDP of #China while almost 780 million sleep hungry. They don't get 3 square meals a day!
I just finished my live interview @democracynow with my dear comrade Amy Goodman here in New York, ahead of the @UN General Assembly. We spoke about the inequality emergency, impunity, Gaza, Artificial Intelligence, Nepal, climate action and, of course, about the need for a reformed UN and how crucial it is to pick the right next Secretary - General.

Despite occupying #Cambodia's territory in multiple locations and preventing 20,000+ villagers from returning home, #Thailand’s FM accuses Cambodia of hypocrisy, plays the victim, and claims Cambodia is exploiting international forums for domestic political gain. Listen to his speech!
Thai foreign minister Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Thailand’s representative at today’s historic first UNCLOS meeting, used the occasion to level unverified accusations against Cambodia, rather than stating Thailand’s position regarding the conciliation mechanism. He also warned Cambodia that there would be “consequences” for electing to initiate the peaceful UNCLOS mechanism.

Foreign minister Prak Sokhonn has reiterated the Kingdom's stance on invoking the compulsory conciliation mechanism under the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), expressing hope that Thailand will participate in the process, fully and comprehensively. He addressed the first UNCOS session, held in Singapore on September 15. He urged the commission to provide constructive recommendations that would enable Cambodia and Thailand to reach a mutually acceptable resolution, rooted firmly in the principles of peace and regional stability.

#Thailand’s treatment of its smaller and weaker neighbor, #Cambodia, has been discussed and exposed on a daily basis at the national, regional, and global levels. Honor the ceasefire, allowing cambodians to return to their villages and start rebuilding the Land of Smiles as a peaceful and promising neighbor!
🇦🇺’s deep engagement with Southeast Asia includes working on shared challenges. Great chat with Suos Yara, Chair of the 🇰🇭 National Assembly’s foreign affairs commission, on strategic competition, the importance of UNCLOS, and supporting ASEAN’s Five Point Consensus on Myanmar.

"Thais took my home. I don't want to speak about it. When I speak about it, I cannot hold back my tears," she said. More than 3,000 new identical houses rise in a grid formation from a Cambodian plain not far from the Thai border, but most of the residents, displaced by conflict, just want to return home. #Thaimilitary facebook.com/reel/8635288867…

#Singapore's ministers may soon earn up to S$1.8 million a year, with the Prime Minister's benchmark rising to S$3.6 million. Even so, I doubt Singaporean ministers and prime ministers are richer than those in #Cambodia?
