AI;DR is apparently an unfamiliar term to Claude, which is ironic. Fortunately it is a clever cookie and figured that shit out. And shit it was, because if you can't be arsed to write it, i'm not gonna be arsed to read it. FFS. Surely we can do better than this?

Still heading to San Francisco for Grace Hopper? πŸ‘€ If your travel plans are already locked in, head over to @github on LinkedIn. You might just be able to turn that trip into a free ticket to GitHub Universe. ❀️ lnkd.in/p/gVYrxuJB

tl;dr if you liked using RSS with Reddit, well fuck you. There's a reason RSS *is* a "beloved part of the open web" and that's because it enables people to consume content where they want, not within some bullshit walled garden.

Not sure if Pangram's plugin is just pointing out the bleedin' obvious (h/t Basil Fawlty), but it's pretty darn clear why scrolling LI is like walking down the pavement dodging dog turds every second step…

LinkedIn is becoming 90%+ AI posts: not just the comments but so many posts summarizing a well-written article using AI In all fairness, LinkedIn brought much of this on themselves: 12 months ago they added a button to write with AI; inviting AI writing (to juice post numbers?)
Using @pangram on LinkedIn is like seeing the AI matrix

- Accessible discussions of data modelling given the AI world we're entering (pssst Semantic Layers matter even more now) - LLMs being DBAs and not doing too badly at all at it - Plenty of decent content about AI, but with a strict no-slop & no-hype policy :)

Some great stuff this month, including: - Good analyses of the DuckLabs acquisition by AWS. - Lots of Kafka, as well as not-Kafka: technologies doing similar things but angling to replace it.

is the answer to play them at their own game, and have an LLM parse and respond to the content, in a race to the bottom of a greasy barrel of sloppy AI banality and emptiness? (3/3)

i am so tired of the imbalance that it creates. it's a variation on Brandolini's law: the energy needed to even read this bullshit is an order of magnitude greater than that taken to prompt a clanker to generate it. (2/3)
