This place is a fermentation tank for stupidity, far right bigots, anti-science, racism & hatred. So I’m poking it with my stick of satire. Sarcastic to idiots.

Jenrick on TV this morning saying the country can’t afford to carry disabled people because it’s broke and welfare will bankrupt us. This was exactly the Nazi narrative of the 1930s

Hi @IsabelOakeshott the @PrivateEyeNews revealed today you head a UAE company conducting unregistered lobbying activities in UK on behalf of African countries and that it involved British politicians (your husband included). Home Office unaware. Care to comment?

Incredibly big and clear drop in online support for Reform, after Russian data centres destroyed. Only one conclusion, Reform have support from Russia whether they know it or not.

Apparently Russian servers have been hit by a Ukrainian strike and immediately massive online hard right chatter has collapsed. This particular chatter was in support of Germany’s AFD, their equivalent to Reform, but similar patterns are being seen in hard right movements everywhere, including the UK. If anyone needed anymore evidence that Russia are driving a massive wave of hard right propaganda in Europe, this is it. So, all you “patriots” - you’ve been duped by Russia, and you are about as far from patriotic as anyone can be. You are easily brainwashed though. This is how propaganda works.

Elon Musk donated $250m to get Trump elected… today he is $630b richer, around 2500x his donation. Buying politicians is highly profitable.

Oh gawd, more of this. Reform have known about the legislation since it was announced in March. Farage voted on it. The outrage is performative, the donations will never happen. They needed a big, controversial headline to distract from the other investigations. #c4news

I was encouraged this week to see the leaders of the frontier labs agree on the need for them to slow down the pace of AI development. Given the stakes, it’s a good and necessary first step.   But I’m even more encouraged by the growing recognition that how this powerful new technology develops should be at the center of our public debate.   I’ve been watching the progress on AI for over a decade now, and one thing that’s clear to me is that the potential impact of this technology is not overhyped. It’s also moving at lightning speed – and even faster than those who are engineering it can keep up with.   I’m not an AI accelerationist who believes it will lead to some techno-utopia, and I’m not a doomer who thinks it will inevitably lead to humanity’s destruction. But whether this technology results in amazing breakthroughs in medicine, energy and education or unleashes huge economic disruptions, greater inequality, and potential catastrophe will depend on the choices that we make right now – choices that should be made not just by the companies involved, but by all of us.

"Nobody gives money out of the goodness of their heart. Let's just be very real about that." Extraordinary sums of money are being poured into British politics, after Reform UK secured not one but two huge donations worth a total of £72m from cryptocurrency billionaires. But what do they want in return?

I have a theory. Ben Delo and Christopher Harborne are not stupid. When they each announced £36m donations to Reform, they will have known about the already published proposals that could make those donations impermissible once the legislation takes effect retrospectively. So what if Reform was never expected to keep the £72m? What if the point was to make two deliberately unprecedented donations, wait for the Government’s pre-existing rules to catch them, then scream “corruption” and claim the establishment had changed the law to stop Reform? It would manufacture exactly the phoney conspiracy and outrage Reform thrives on, just on an unprecedented scale. Maybe the extraordinary size of the donations wasn’t incidental. Maybe it was the entire point?

US Justice Dept and Reform donor Ben Delo. Built a company designed to flout US law; willfully failed to implement and maintain even basic anti-money laundering policies. Pled guilty. $10 million criminal fine. 30 months of probation, waived by Trump. justice.gov/usao-sdny/pr/fou…
