I bombed a whiteboard code interview inverting a btree or something (fake startup making 3d webGL rental tours) so bad that I started a software agency at 25 so I never had to subject myself to that godawful impractical humiliation ritual ever again. Now I ship operating systems

This might be the pinnacle moment of the strongest El Niño in history.
Pacific Super Typhoon Champi is unbelievable by every metric. A buoy just measured a ~909 MBAR pressure at the edge of her 40+ mile-wide eye, which has now reached a blistering dryness of -10.94 C. Her eyewall is a 180+ MPH (290+ kph) buzzsaw of cyclonic violence, and her CDO is a perfect Saturnian ring of icy, -110 F (-80 C) convective thunderstorms.
And she is still. Getting. Stronger.

Tiger Woods Unimpressed With Roadster As He's Flipped Dozens Of Vehicles buff.ly/dUGarJ0
The people excited about the vaporware roadster are exactly the types you'd expect. I need more people talking about the Mission S in my feed than that junk

New on our Engineering blog: Creating in-house source control.
In May, we merged around 2,500 code changes per day. In September, we merged more than 30,000 per day. As a result, we became bottlenecked by developer infrastructure built for human (rather than agent) scale.
Here, we share how we built a new version control system—and fully migrated our monorepo from git—in five months: anthropic.com/engineering/re…

Not a soul should be surprised at this after airtable was acquired
Today we’re laying off a large part of the Airtable team.
This is not a reflection of their work but a reflection of our deep belief that small teams ship more and better.
For Airtable, better is about to look like:
- A new Core team shipping your top requests monthly (already 30+ shipped in 3 weeks)
- Upgraded Omni, Airtable Canvas, a stronger MCP, and BYO agents, coming soon
- New Performance and Infra teams focusing on speeding up bases and increasing limits on records, fields, and syncs
To everyone leaving: thank you. If you’re hiring, these are excellent people and worth a call.
