Here’s Sleeper on Top of the Pops in 1995 with Inbetweener, one of the defining singles of the Britpop era. Released that year, the song reached number 16 on the UK Singles Chart and later appeared on their debut album Smart. Written by Louise Wener and Jon Stewart, Inbetweener stood out for its sharp lyrics and bright, guitar-led sound, helping establish Sleeper as one of the most visible bands of mid-90s British pop television.

Q. I know most of the characters are supposed to be dead (we can all ignore that!), but do you think there is any chance of another live show?
Cheers Rob

Now playing: ‘Everything’s Nothing Forever Again’ by @Wrest
Little Scottish band that deserves to be much bigger in my opinion.
Saw them live in The Jacaranda in Liverpool and they not only put on an excellent show, but they are thoroughly good guys too.

Now Playing: ‘Romance’ by @fontainesdublin via @RegaResearch & @BowersWilkins
I’ve been eagerly waiting for the new album to get delivered. Does it continue my love affair with the band? After just three run throughs, I think this may be my favourite album of the year so far.

Now Playing: The Future Is Our Way Out by Bridget Calls Me Baby via @RegaResearch & @BowersWilkins
Singer Wes Leavins has a full-on Morrissey croon, there is also a whiff of Elvis, Brandon Flowers and Hamish Hawk in there. An album full of brand-new retro songs. I adore it.
House to myself, thought I’d give this @amelia_coburn test pressing a blast (after a run in my cleaner - it managed to get splashed with high quality IPA despite being in the tote bag “I could totally pull off”). Wonderful, wonderful album. @RegaResearch @BowersWilkins
Now Playing: ‘Everyone’s Getting Involved: A Tribute To @TalkingHeadsNet’ Stop Making Sense’ via@RegaResearch & @BowersWilkins
Unfortunately, I have listened to the original and can’t help but compare it - one for the completists rather than the purists.
Now Playing: ‘Beethoven Was Deaf’ by @officialmoz via @RegaResearch & @BowersWilkins
I played this album to death in the mid 90s, it made me long to see him live, something I’ve managed to do a few times now. This remastered reissue sounds really good. Nice job @AbbeyRoad
Now Playing: ‘Embrace’ by @iamroosevelt__ via @RegaResearch & @BowersWilkins
This afternoon's blast is 'Embrace' by Marius Lauber, better known as Roosevelt. If you love pristine synth-pop with a helping of Euro-dance on the side, you should give him a go.
Now Playing: ‘Now Yearbook 1993’ via @RegaResearch & @BowersWilkins
Sometimes, I want to listen to something so fresh it is in the shockwave ahead of cutting-edge of new music. Sometimes, I just want to listen to a compilation of songs from my yoof. Today is that sort of day.
Now Playing: ’New Gold Dream’ by @simplemindscom via @RegaResearch & @BowersWilkins
The @hmvtweets 1921 rerelease. I adore this record. Includes fan favourites 'Someone, Somewhere, In Summertime', 'Promised You A Miracle', 'Big Sleep', 'New Gold Dream', and 'Glittering Prize'
Now Playing: ‘Seal’ by @Seal via @RegaResearch & @BowersWilkins
This is ‘Seal’ by Seal, not to be mistaken for ‘Seal’ by Seal, you understand.
This album was bought by my girlfriend when it was released and played to death by me. It has some absolute belters on it.
