Bearish indicators next to S&P 500 returns for the past decade. 2022 was abysmal and we’re still going through its ramifications, in the gaming industry especially.
After the recent selloff, the S&P 500 is a touch above its 200-day average and well below its 50-day average. So far, it’s not as bad as it could be. I expect December to finish on top again.
I used to carry both my iPhone and iPad everywhere. My iPhone handled most of my daily tasks, while iPad was dedicated to portfolio analysis and research databases. Since getting the Duo I haven't touched my iPad; it handles my entire workflow flawlessly. They did it again. 👌🏼
I spent a month figuring out what my new strategy will be. In my backtest, it almost always correlated with VOO’s drawdowns alongside QQQ-like levels of appreciation.
I got humbled by the market last night.

All this while the S&P 500 $SPX is trading just 1.8% below its all-time high.
ETF wrapper containing other ETFs is a brilliant idea, but 20 seems a bit much.
It underperformed the market in my backtests. From 2016 to 2025, VOO did 15.8%, QQQ did 21%, WBMO did 13.5%.

Is this a one-time fluke, or can I repeat it again? (Period: February 2021 until October 2026)
I started a new separate portfolio to challenge myself and prove that I can repeat it. Let’s check-in after a year.
While I did outperform the market in the past 4 years, I spent most of my time this year analyzing how I can do that again without going through that extreme volatility. Going to test my new findings with a new portfolio starting from zero.
I should write a follow-up to my primer on the stock market. It’s fun to be told that I did better than 90% of professional money managers.
