Statement released by Tampa Bay Lightning GM Julien BriseBois:
``We are aware of the media reports regarding the future of Nikita Kucherov with the Lightning. We unequivocally have no intention of trading Nikita.''
It’s Ducks Halloween party night.
** Please note this has likely been in the books since opening night.

Please tell me he used the PA system.
"Hey folks, this is your alternate captain speaking ..."
Nikita Kucherov and his agent Dan Milstein just wrapped up a meeting within the last half hour with Tampa GM Julien BriseBois advising that the Hart Trophy winner is asking for a trade. Kucherov told his teammates on the plane.

Negotiations between the Lightning and Nikita Kucherov’s camp remained far apart. He’s an unrestricted free agent this summer, and is due for potentially double his $9.5 million AAV.
Kucherov let his teammates know of his decision today. He has a modified no trade clause, which allows him to give a list of 10 approved teams.
Breaking: Nikita Kucherov has requested a trade from the Tampa Bay Lightning, sources tell @emilymkaplan.

For those curious about why Nikita Klepov opted to sign his ELC instead of attending Michigan State this season ⤵️

I’m told he ultimately chose not to attend a university and wanted to focus solely on hockey this season, be that with the Ducks or in the OHL

Early flag plant: If this is a cash thing, Kucherov goes to Seattle. If it’s a wanting to bring the rockstar show somewhere else thing, Montreal. Might get rented somewhere else in between to get Tampa their parachute. Crazy times
I mean he’s the reigning hart trophy winner but is this a move the Ducks need? They aren’t right there to make the leap to get him. He’s also on a team 8-3-1 & cup contender so what’s he looking for?
Kucherov would certainly be quite an add for the Ducks. How feasible that is, is another story.
Does have history with Verbeek and was longtime teammates with Killorn.

people freaking out as if beckett didn’t do time down in the ohl before he was eating up minutes/stats up here. development never hurts and it’s much better for klepov than burning his time on the bench
Roster Move: We have assigned Nikita Klepov to the Saginaw Spirit of the OHL.

Personally think Klepov played well enough to stick, but whatever the vision or plan was just didn’t work out.
There’s one shoe.
Mentioned earlier in the week, his & McQueen’s development needed to addressed. Either play them or let them go back & develop in their respective leagues.
