The silent epidemic? Cold Womb, A traditional Chinese medicine perpective on hormonal imbalance and infertility.
A "cold womb" signals trouble during luteal phase, showing up as a low basal body temperature (BBT) or a shortened phase. Progesterone isn't pulling its weight, which can make it tough for your uterus to build a thick, cozy lining for a fertilized egg to implant. Worse, it can lead to early shedding of that lining, setting the stage for challenges like early periods, infertility, or even miscarriage. In short, a "cold womb" can throw a major wrench in your reproductive plans.
What I do, especially in the colder months:
- Avoid cold drinks and raw food;
- Warm up cold fruit by thawing or cooking.
- Wear adequate clothing, especially around the lower abdomen. Bye bye Alo cropped jacket.
- Protect feet from cold with socks.
- Exercise at least 3x/week for a min.30 minutes
