not a perfect fim by any means and he has done amazing work in theatre but there was so much potential here for some truly epic romanian productions

this idea didn’t come to mungiu in a dream and instead was inspired by a real event so yes there very much were people who believed the children should’ve been taken away

FJORD is such an anti-woke film. Is there anyone who actually thinks those children should’ve been taken away from the parents? And is Mungiu always this conservative? (I never saw 4 Months, 3 Weeks, and 2 Days)

i am personally more inclined towards the latter and i don’t agree on some of mungiu’s more “centrist” takes but i also understand where some of it comes from

theres a moment when penelope cruz looks straight into the camera and is like “i love transgenderism… when you are transgender it means you have a beautiful spirit :)”. it’s not bad it’s just cornball.

glossed… over…?
Margot (@AutoAsphyxiator) profile pictureMargot@AutoAsphyxiatorNov 6
The Dan subplot was so much better and compelling than the Chris Hansen plotline in my opinion. Having to go into a room alone with someone there to assault you countless times disturbed me deeply and it was so glossed over for the main plotline
