THE POISONS WE DRINK is about a witch whose love potions can poison politicians with ideas. I wrote it in resistance to Trump’s 1st administration. Now, under his 2nd, it could go outta print. Please help me keep it in print & get it into teen hands. bethanybaptiste.com/books-4

Here's an MG about a Black girl who loves monsters. Let's run up it's numbers because this book deserves publisher support too! bookshop.org/a/111697/978059…

I'd like to make a poster, and I was wondering if yall could share 1 fave scene or a quote from POISONS. I'm going to add every response that comes by way to the poster. Just as a reminder that POISONS did have a community of people who loved it. 🥹 I'd appreciate it.

We've gone from 13 copies to 3. Once those go, IDK what comes next. "Where can I buy?" "Why does a 2024 book out of print this soon?" Ask the publisher. Hold them accountable, BUT anger has to match demand. Money talks. If yall want a copy, the community has to show up.
I think I found the reason why my book is on backorder or is completely out of stock. I wrote THE POISONS WE DRINK because I believe in Black liberation, Black rage, and Black-led revolutions. I wrote it in response during the first Trump admin.

If POISONS is on your TBR, get it while you still can. Buy it. Because once it's gone, it's gone. Because the math tells me, what's out there is what's left. It's not a collectible. It's an endangered species, hunty. It's Sapphic September, Suicide Awareness Month, and 1/2
OK, this post has been a while in the making. Yall want transparency and realness about what it means to be in traditional publishing as a Black author, I'mma show you with actual receipts. Royalty statements. Free post on Patreon: bit.ly/4gTZ9NG

September is Suicide Prevention Month. Suicide prevention is affordable housing. Suicide prevention is free healthcare. Suicide prevention is free education. Suicide prevention is food security. Suicide prevention is financial stability. Therapy can’t fix the system.

Let’s never forget what Dolly did. She donated $1 m for Covid research, paid for all of her Dollywood employees to go to college, decreased high school drop out rates in her home county, donated books to every kid under 5 there & so much more. Let’s all be more like Dolly💗

If you want to honour Dolly Parton after her passing consider donating to the imagination library. It’s a really lovely program she created and championed that provides books to children ages 0-5 completely free!! imaginationlibrary.com/

I really loved Dolly Parton‘s music, but I love what she did for literacy even more. that woman gave away thousands of books and helped thousands of children learn to read and continue their love of reading. she will always be iconic for investing in education in that way

Call me lazy, but I don’t wanna side hustle, second job, part time job, to make content, none of that shit. I work full fucking time & I should make enough money to cover my basic needs.
