"While much of the Western world celebrates Pride and reflects on the remarkable progress achieved over the past decades, we should not forget those countries where LGBTQ+ people continue to struggle and where equality remains, at least for now, a distant aspiration."
As part of our Pride Month celebrations, we asked author @rusxander to share his experience as a researcher who specialises in Russian & Soviet history, writing about LGBTQ+ rights.

Russians are increasingly turning to antidepressants. In my new article for @RussiaPost_tw , I discuss how antidepressants have become a part of everyday life in today’s Russia and why a true “Prozac culture” has not yet taken shape.

A strong recommendation to this book: Rustam Alexander’s Red Closet. Before reading this book I had no idea, how pro-queer the USSR was in the beginning. Until it wasn’t. Do read💎👌
