One of the more interesting announcements at @ServiceTitan 's Pantheon last week got a lot less attention than I expected.
ServiceTitan launched Homh (homh.com), a marketplace connecting homeowners with home service contractors.
At first glance it looks like another Angi or Thumbtack. Two things make it different.
First, it's built for AI agents.
Think about how homeowners might find a contractor a year or two from now. Instead of searching Google, reading reviews and calling three companies, they could tell an AI agent like Meta's Muse or Grok Bot to find a reputable HVAC company that can fix their AC today. Unlike a chatbot, those agents could handle the whole thing for the homeowner.
Homh is being built for that. AI agents can find contractors, see real-time availability, and book appointments straight into ServiceTitan.
Second, the rankings come from actual operating data.
ServiceTitan is using what's already in its platform to rate contractors on punctuality, hired rate and customer satisfaction. They also say contractors can't pay for better rankings. That's a big break from the usual lead-gen model.
So how well you run your business could eventually decide how often AI agents recommend you to homeowners.
It's early, and nobody knows how fast homeowners will start using personal AI agents to find home services.
I think the bigger story is this. ServiceTitan has spent years building the system contractors use to run their businesses. Now it's taking a step toward being the platform customers use to find those businesses. It already has the operating data, and now it's positioning itself to steer where the demand goes.
Could this change how homeowners find contractors, and how contractors compete for new customers? Curious what others think.
