These days, you should be building lots of tools for yourself. Build a tool to polish an animation, lots of knobs to fine tune. A tool to visualise performance issues. A tool to populate your UI with realistic data. Leverage AI to build a tool that builds *the* tool.

When was the last time you had to jump 4’ to a tree off the side of the highway and scale down 10’ to get to a spot where your next driver can pick you up, because the first got a flat. Well, that happened to me today. Missed my flight, but was able to snag a later one 💪🫠

And, did I mention I had to balance my laptop bag in the crook of the tree, so my hands were free so I could make the jump, all while having a huge duffle on my back!?

Do we dare?

I feel like I can't shake Arc. Something about it still feels better to me than Dia.

What's everybody jamming on today?

Of course, the one day I can't make it to the @AtlantaPHP meetup. Not sure what everyone will be talking about today...🤔

This.
People are saying execution is now irrelevant. I think opposite is true. The bar to executing a software idea is near zero. But quality of execution is more of a differentiator than ever. Good ideas badly made used to be promising ‘toys’ but now feel like throwaway party tricks

I was offered $26k for a domain I own. I am not taking the offer, instead I am taking it as a kick in the ass to actually make something that will live at that domain that will generate more than that. More updates here in the coming days...

This.
Your side projects should be compounding very fast with AI. Every problem solved can be re-used or extracted into a generic module. Every design decision should make the next thing beautiful by default. Your agents should be constantly stealing from your past decisions.

Falling into the classic trap of coupling too many projects together where one has to be released before the next, and the next, and so on. Thankfully they are all tightening together, and feeling real good.

Great enough.
There’s basically two mindsets to work. And you have to pick one, can’t flip flop “Don’t let perfect be the enemy of good” or “Kill the good to get to the great” If you want to kill the good sometimes but then force it through other times. You’ll just have an incoherent mess

The forced hate towards brutalism from the “choose beauty” tech crowd is so funny to me Brutalism is beautiful It’s beautiful the same way the face of a cliff is beautiful

Excited to finally start sharing some pieces of what I have been building, and building with.
