'Tough to face China now".
CLEAR EYED ASSESSMENT BY DG ITBP ON THE GAP BETWEEN INDIA AND CHINA IN CONVENTIONAL MILITARY CAPABILITY.
But DG ITBP holds out hope. Says developing Drone capability is an opportunity. Cites Ukraine.
DG ITBP Shatrujeet: "To face China through traditional ways would be tough now. Because, China has invested heavily in the modernization of its forces and has moved ahead.
But through drones, small nations can fight bigger nations, as we have seen in the Russia-Ukraine and Iran-USA conflicts. Every Day Russia is sacrificing 10000-15000 soldiers every month."

A few years ago, Ashu had a high-paying corporate job in London, earning millions. Saurav was writing about the country’s legal system and living a great life. Both had successful careers, financial security and every reason to continue living the lives they had built for themselves.
But they chose to give it all up in the hope of making this country a better place. They had absolutely no reason to leave behind their comfortable lives, take to the streets, face uncertainty and eventually end up in jail. Yet they did.
What I admire most about these two is that despite coming from privileged backgrounds, they chose to fight for those who aren’t as fortunate. They could have easily looked the other way, enjoyed their lives and never bothered about the struggles of people they had never even met. Nobody asked them to make these sacrifices. Nobody expected them to. But they did, because they genuinely care about people beyond themselves.
And to me, that is the greatest quality a human being can have. To stand up for people you don’t know, to fight battles that aren’t your own, and to risk everything you have so that someone else might have a better life.
That’s the kind of people Ashu and Saurav are.

◾𝗘𝗩𝗠/𝗩𝗩𝗣𝗔𝗧 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗺𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲
Pre-installation firmware chain
We were told that electoral rolls were protected because the ERO is the statutory authority - decentralised, independent and empowered by law. But then ECINet showed us something deeply troubling, that law may give an officer(ERO) discretion, but programmed 𝘀𝗼𝗳𝘁𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲,centralized in Delhi, can determine whether that officer(ERO) is actually able to exercise it
𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗿𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗮 𝗺𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗯𝗶𝗴𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮'𝘀 𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆.
◾𝗘𝗩𝗠/𝗩𝗩𝗣𝗔𝗧 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗺𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝗘𝗟 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗘𝗖𝗜𝗟.
According to the ECI, firmware is loaded into EVM/VVPAT microcontrollers by BEL and ECIL at their manufacturing facilities and then locked in one -time-programmable (OTP) memory. The ECI states that only designated engineers have access during that manufacturing process.
The source code is written by a selected group of just 2–3 engineers & subsequently tested before the machine code is loaded into microcontrollers
▪️Whenever 𝗱𝗼𝘂𝗯𝘁𝘀 are raised
The ECI's position is that after approved firmware is loaded and the microcontroller is made One-Time Programmable (OTP), that particular chip cannot subsequently be reprogrammed
But that answers what happens 𝗔𝗙𝗧𝗘𝗥 the code is burnt
◾But with ECINet, we have already seen how 𝘀𝗼𝗳𝘁𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 can determine what changes are technologically permitted, even where the law vests that discretion in a statutory authority.
◾That makes the QUESTION about 𝗘𝗩𝗠/𝗩𝗩𝗣𝗔𝗧 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗺𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲 even more important-
1- What guarantees the integrity of the 𝗰𝗼𝗱𝗲 𝗕𝗘𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗘 it is burnt into the chip?
Saying “OTP means it can't be changed afterwards” answers the post-manufacture question. It does not, by itself, answer whether the correct and independently verified program was burnt into the OTP chip in the first place.
2- Who independently verifies the code before OTP?
3 - Could EVM code theoretically be changed at the development- manufacturing end, before firmware is burnt into the chip?
👉🏼Yes - the source code is 𝘀𝗼𝗳𝘁𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲 and can be changed by whoever is authorised to develop it.
If software architecture could constrain the statutory powers of an ERO
4- What independent safeguards ensure that no comparable concentration of technological control exists anywhere in the EVM/VVPAT software during development, firmware verification and deployment chain?
5- Who writes each version of the BEL and ECIL EVM/VVPAT source code?
6-Who can authorise a source-code change?
7-Who controls the source repository and audit logs?
8-Who independently reviews the actual source, rather than merely functional behaviour?
9-Is the final firmware reproducibly built from the reviewed source?
10-Who independently verifies that the firmware burnt into randomly selected production EVMs is bit-for-bit identical to the authenticated approved build?
We are witnessing deeply troubling signs of manipulation of the electoral process. Red flags are at every crucial stage, while transparency remains conspicuously absent 👇🏼

In January 2024, former Union Secretary E.A.S. Sarma wrote to the Election Commission raising concerns that at least four BEL independent directors allegedly had BJP affiliations.
The names reported at the time included -Shyama Singh, Shivnath Yadav, Mansukhbhai Khachariya and P.V. Parthasarathi.

◾BEL's board has since changed.
The current BEL disclosures, the independent directors include Pradeep Tripathi and Bharatsinh Prabhatsinh Parmar.
Bharatsinh Prabhatsinh Parmar is a former Rajya Sabha MP, and election affidavit records identify him as having been elected as a BJP candidate.

Suddenly, RW handles and Sanghis have started flooding timelines with French protest visuals. They’re frustrated that Indian protesters aren’t following the path of their French counterparts.
Cool down. India and its new-gen protesters are firmly on the path of non-violence.

Nobody recalls Prof Sabyachi Das of Ashoka University who first published his paper on vote chori in 2019 elections. Was forced to resign.
Just like @akshaykumar interviewing Prime minister in 2019 election campaign.
Barely any work in the Bombay film industry. Just relying on celeb status and past laurels. Why should an American citizen fight for causes that concern Indians? Indians on US visas are sent asked to self deport, or sent back unceremoniously at times when they get into activism space, so reciprocation is fine

Keep your voice down. The country is burning and the justice system is burning with it.

I was sitting just a few metres away from the Supreme Court when the BJP brought these women for its women protest today.
Back-to-back 40-50 premium AC buses full of women arrived within 30 minutes there.
Their protest call was also named #DelhiChalo.
Most of the women sitting in those buses appeared to come from very poor backgrounds.
It’s crazy to me that a party claiming to be the biggest in the country has to pay people to attend its protests.
And even those protesters are cooking Modi. 😭😭

It appears that Faye dsouza is now the new unofficial India Overseas Spokesperson of the BJP. Reminds me of a quote by Johnathan Foster
“If someone says it's raining and another person says it's dry, it's not your job to quote them both. Your job is to look out the fcukin window and find out which is true.”

Senior journalist Sreenivasan Jain expresses shock after witnessing a woman journalist being detained by Delhi Police while covering protests in the national capital.
Speaking to DeKoder, Jain says the reporter had identified herself, was carrying her press credentials and was visibly equipped with a microphone. Despite repeated objections from Jain and other journalists present, he says police took her away.
Jain alleges that the detention happened under the supervision of a senior IPS officer and calls the incident “appalling.”
The incident comes hours after the Supreme Court's October 11 hearing, during which the Court recorded an assurance that journalists, lawyers and other professionals would not be obstructed in performing their duties.
