Social Reckoning is full of actors you know being totally believable as characters you mostly don’t know. The only question left is just how bad is social media and why am I still using it….

I was kind of badgered into seeing Resident Evil - the badgering was right, it was surprisingly good fun

Tonight I have watched “it’s nice up north” with Mr Shuttleworth himself in attendance. Now on to “the weight” in a cinema / living room (I even brought my own snacks like the frugal northerner I am)

Tonight I saw “Casablanca” at the Prince Charles for the first. It’s a wonderful film - who knew? Claude Rains is hilarious, Dooley Wilson is charming…the leads aren’t bad either. A deserved round of applause

Bugsy Malone at 50 — A THREAD A Prohibition-era musical with an all-kid cast, where kids “shoot” each other with splurge guns, is a bonkers premise. It’s incredible this film got made at all. Here’s the fascinating story of a shoot that became a logistical nightmare… and the big question: has it aged well? 1/

New Order’s “Blue Monday” reimagined with 1930s instruments by Orkestra Obsolete. Theremin, musical saw, harmonium ... pure genius. This cover is absolute magic.

There’s a good concert film still to be shown. The songs sound great and watching Liam the showman turn it on for the gigs while the band wonder where the hell it comes from. Don’t look back in anger brought the gig back for me, just how much the crowd coalesced for each song

I enjoyed “Pressure”. Damian Lewis playing Montgomery, Brendan Fraser is a believable Eisenhower with the literal weight of the world on decisions and Andrew Scott is reliably excellent. Maybe a few made for TV moments but a good ensemble

Definite page turner, best book in a while. Small community of people who have had parts of their minds wiped to erase criminal pasts. Are you still who you were if you can’t remember what you did and who you were? And who is the murderer now?

Decent book and I enjoyed the audio (the Geordie accents are exactly what I would have imagined if I had read it). Northern post miners strike life struggles with a dash of canine love, redemption & shenanigans

I enjoyed this tonight. Not a happy watch so you probably have to be in the mood for it but a decent story and a great cast performance which feels authentic. Soundtrack is good as well
