This guy utterly dismantles the populist politics of Reform and Restore in 90 seconds. It’s actually quite beautiful. Take decades of deep-rooted problems in Britain and convince people that a relatively tiny proportion of the population is responsible for all of them. Housing, the NHS, crime. Blame illegal migrants for everything. Suddenly, you don’t need credible solutions to the housing crisis, NHS waiting lists or crime. You just need increasingly extreme policies on immigration. And by the time people realise you never had meaningful answers to the vast majority of Britain’s problems, you’re already in power, handing out tax cuts to your donors.

Former President Obama calls President Trump "that guy" and says it is not surprising that he wants to ban certain press from White House: "The government cannot discriminate against or pick on or bully or exclude somebody because they don't like the criticism..."

When folk constantly tell fibs, it’s really difficult to know when they’re telling the truth. I imagine it’s even a challenge for themselves.

Saw this wonderful clip of Sir Jonathan Miller tearing up Enoch Powell's divisive rhetoric on the Dick Cavett show, reminding us all that we don’t have to accept racism and xenophobia in our politics. We should see it for what it is, and call it out. Always.

‘As Prime Minister, I will take on the Laws of Nature, to construct perpetual motion power stations and build cities in the sky.’ As I’ve said before, you can convince people to vote for the abolition of gravity, but they will be pissed off when they hit the ground.

In my opinion all government policy stretching back up to five years has been a bag of shite. That's one less talk to give ....

Business and tax fraud is around £20 billion per year on average. Benefit fraud is estimated at around £1.5 to £2billion. Business is ten times more fraudulent than welfare. By all means tackle both, but get your priorities straight.
'There are too many people in this country who are of working age, who are of good health, and who are choosing to rely on benefits' Tory leadership contender Suella Braverman tells ITV News Political Correspondent @carldinnen that the UK spends 'too much on welfare'

I cannot resist posting this again. It gets funnier every time.
Here is Boris Johnson writing about the predicament he finds himself in, and why he still can’t bring himself to resign. It’s surprisingly honest and insightful. Possibly because he wrote it in 2006, about Tony Blair.
