IPOB Homeland Leadership OFFICIAL MEMORANDUM October 19, 2026 Clarifying And Solemnly Warning That IPOB Remains A Peaceful Movement This official memorandum serves to clarify the absolute stance of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) under the leadership of the Mazi Chikadibia Edoziem-headed Directorate Of State(DOS), regarding the recently engineered disruptions, external plots, and the ongoing characterization of our movement, especially in the homeland. Following the continued unrepentant ugly characters of Nnamdi Kanu, which led to his court conviction and jail sentence, IPOB has fully dissociated itself from him, his actions, as well as any criminal elements associating with him. IPOB has consistently made it clear to the world that our movement has no knowledge of, nor participation in any unlawful activities. However, despite this dissociation, directives continue to be issued from him through his camp leaders—the Sokoto agents aimed at mobilizing individuals to cause chaos. In recent times, IPOB peaceful meeting grounds across Aba and Anambra have been repeatedly targeted and stormed by these criminal agents of NnamdiKanu. To the extent that IPOB leadership proactively suspended meetings in several vulnerable locations and relocated others to undisclosed venues, due to direct threats against our members. These decisions were made strictly to prevent any measure of violence, as IPOB refuses to engage in retaliation or compromise its foundational principles of peaceful agitation. Nonetheless, the IPOB Homeland Leadership recently received intelligence regarding a gathering organized last week in Umuoji, Anambra State by these opposing elements. The deliberate intent behind that meeting was to stage an event, mobilise violent groups to disrupt it, and subsequently blame IPOB for the chaos to justify their ongoing violent agenda in Biafraland against the IPOB Institution. Recognizing this trap, our coordinators immediately circulated voice notes warning members and the public to stay away. But, while many heeded the warning, those who attended faced the engineered disruption exactly as predicted. Now, the perpetrators are falsely labeling our protective warnings as "threats" in an attempt to shift the blame onto us. Let it be known clearly to the global community: IPOB is a peaceful movement. Anyone attempting to associate IPOB with violence is doing so wrongly and maliciously. For the umpteenth time, we are still seriously warning Nnamdi Kanu’s Sokoto camp to desist from executing violent plots against Biafrans. If the ultimate provocations, killings, and pressures from the Nigerian state over the years could not force IPOB to abandon its peaceful approach, no internal faction or rogue group will ever succeed in turning this movement into a violent one. You cannot control or manipulate IPOB. The restoration of Biafra remains an unyielding objective, and it will be achieved through peaceful, resolute means.
