It’s been 6 weeks of learning, unlearning, and a great deal of character and leadership assessment and development. 6 weeks doing it exhausted, smart somedays, barely holding it together some others, but I made it!! Proudly a 2025 MW Fellow of the mighty Presidential Precinct.

I came across a video of #HonorableMinteh asking the #HonorableMinister @MohGambia if the estimated 25,000 Gambians living with #HIV are "still sexually active." Over the last few days I have also seen media outlets quickly pick up the Minsters update, carrying sensational headlines that are fixated on the highest infection rates being among #KeyPopulations, such as #CommercialSexWorkers and Men who have sex with men #MSMs.
Hearing public discourse and seeing media coverage center around moral judgment and sensationalism rather than healthcare facts and human empathy is seriously concerning.
We know that #Stigma is a major barrier to healthcare, and it is fear that truly drives the spread of HIV. Consequently, when public figures and media outlets frame HIV this way, it reinforces the exact fear, shame, and discrimination that keep people from getting tested, seeking lifesaving treatment, or disclosing their status to loved ones.
We must counter this stigma with medical reality. When a person living with HIV takes their Antiretroviral Therapy (#ART) daily as prescribed, the virus drops to undetectable levels in their blood. At an undetectable level, the virus cannot be sexually transmitted to a partner. Undetectable = Untransmittable (U=U) is grounded in solid medical science. So People living with HIV can safely have intimate relationships, give birth to HIV-negative children, and live long, vibrant, and healthy lives. Having HIV is a manageable health condition, not a pause on life or human dignity.
Moving forward, we should expect our policymakers to focus their interventions on what truly protects our communities. Instead of questioning whether people living with HIV are sexually active, our leaders should focus on nationwide education regarding HIV and STI prevention, dismantling stigma in our health centers and communities, and championing comprehensive sex education.
Our national health strategy must be driven by science, compassion, and public education.

I still remember her “THE GUN” performance.. One of my faves hands down
Has to be d. Four eight, not 4 eights. Also, the ‘and’ in the statement is worth paying attention to🤣
Why am I talking like I know what I’m saying?
I was about to say this. This is entirely on the LGC & Barrow. My problem with the findings and the white paper is the timing of their release. Unless the CoA delivers a judgment overturning the LGC's decision, IEC is legally expected to expunge Talib from the ballot. & knowing-

But IEC cant be blamed for following the laws. It was well cooked and calculated from government. Talib mo neka c problem rek.

If the commission's findings presented to us are indeed doctored, why hasn’t the LGC, through its Chairperson, said anything?
Bensouda Warns Attorney General Against Pressuring IEC
Coalition 2026 presidential candidate Talib Ahmed Bensouda has accused the Attorney General of attempting to pressure the Independent Electoral Commission and use it as a political tool.
In a statement issued on 1 November 2026, Bensouda described the Attorney General’s efforts as “a Mission Impossible.” He rejected the Local Government Commission of Inquiry report as “doctored” and the government’s White Paper as “unconstitutional,” noting that it was published at night without a press conference or public endorsement by the President, Attorney General, or any minister.
“A doctored commission report and unconstitutional white paper … will not stop us,” Bensouda said.
Addressing President Adama Barrow directly, he pointed out that no previous Gambian president had avoided facing another party leader or coalition leader in an election. “My advice to you is to not venture into uncharted territory,” he stated.
The remarks follow the White Paper’s acceptance of adverse findings against Bensouda and the coalition’s insistence that his nomination for the 5 December election will proceed. Bensouda framed the developments as an attempt to obstruct his candidacy through administrative pressure rather than open electoral contest.

I just hope with her gone GMA d nenj maintain the status quo cause that woman is all what GMA is!!!!
You are very madddd! Some of the most sexist & misogynistic utterances I’ve heard have come from gay men. As another oppressed group, you’d think they’d understand what we’re trying to do with feminism and how the movement benefits them, but no. They’re still very much men.
