Ah - the little polar bear bats of Japan! These guys are amazing. Hats off (or rather mittens on) to the researchers who discovered these bats in the snow. A remarkable bit of bat lore.
There are over 1400 described species of bat in the world, each unique and special. The Ussurian tube-nosed bat, which featured on #BBCEarthAsia, is a species that hibernates IN SNOW! bbc.co.uk/programmes/article…

Today is One Health Day. The health of humans, animals and ecosystems are closely interlinked. Changes in these relationships can increase the risk of new human and animal diseases developing and spreading. #OneHealth is an approach to optimize the health of humans, animals and ecosystems by integrating these fields, rather than keeping them separate bit.ly/40A3wa6
