Microsoft will pay their hourly employees not because they care about them, but because they care about an abstract concept called the "economy"... A+ tweet writing, MSFT comms.
While the work to protect public health needs to speed up, the economy can’t afford to slow down. That's one reason we will pay the hourly workers who support our campuses their regular wages as we manage through COVID-19. blogs.microsoft.com/on-the-i…

Not one single question about the climate crisis.
Not one single question about the climate crisis.
Not one single question about the climate crisis.
This is the existential crisis of our time. Not one single question, and that’s completely inexcusable. #DemDebate

Don’t call these texts dumb. Taylor was building a file. If we save the country, his determination to put the facts on record will be an important reason why. Sonderland not dumb either. He recognized what Taylor was doing and demanded Taylor cease. Which Taylor refused to do – at Washington, DC
Wow. Read all of the text messages. “As I said on the phone, I think it’s crazy to withhold security assistance for help with a political campaign.” documentcloud.org/documents/…

Transgender women, particularly transgender women of color, have been dying at shocking rates for years and we are not talking about it enough / covering it enough / doing enough to save their lives.
The body of a Black transgender woman was found burned beyond recognition in a car in South Florida last week as the U.S. toll of trans women of color climbs disturbingly higher. huffp.st/yzJF6dx

How to not be called a racist:
Step 1. Don't write a racist column
Step 2. Don't defend the racist column by saying it was about "ordinary voters" while using the term "ordinary voters" to mean "white people"

Day 5 of SF heat wave (Captain’s Log): all who use mineral rock deodorant have been vanquished from the city walls. The iced coffee has run out. The swamp ass seems to afflict us all. Morale is low, and yet, there are still those who believe @KarlTheFog will come to save us.
Hey @TeamYouTube good thing you have a clear policy that specifically calls out the abuses of this harasser! You could celebrate Pride month by enforcing your targeted harassment and hate speech policies.
If you work at Google, please complain loudly internally about this.

(3/4) As an open platform, it’s crucial for us to allow everyone–from creators to journalists to late-night TV hosts–to express their opinions w/in the scope of our policies. Opinions can be deeply offensive, but if they don’t violate our policies, they’ll remain on our site.
For context, @gaywonk has been repeatedly harassed for being gay and Mexican and had his phone number released by a popular YouTube account, and @YouTube reviewed thoroughly and shrugged. huffpost.com/entry/vox-carlo…
Jay Inslee is the only candidate for president with a plan for the climate emergency that meets the urgency of the crisis. He also has the experience as both a Governor and a US congressperson to get things done. I hope we hear more of him.
.@JayInslee’s climate plan is the most serious + comprehensive one to address our crisis in the 2020 field.
It meets key marks:
✅ Big enough
✅ Fast enough
✅ Economically stimulating for working people
✅ Acknowledges injustice + w/ an eye to make communities whole
Also, he has a cute video on a scooter talking about clean energy and micro-mobility. It’s the future! teapaw.org/jayinslee/status/11273…
If you think climate change is the most urgent issue facing the world today, donating $10 to Jay’s campaign will help your voice be heard: jayinslee.com/
