Breaking news: Anthropic discloses $80 billion loss as the artificial intelligence company prepares to go public. wapo.st/4jCqBCR

I am shocked, absolutely shocked, that Anthropic ARR has likely gone vertical in October after they cut token prices.
Except the exact same thing happened for the entire AI market, which is why GPU rental prices have surged while token prices declined.
$100b plus in year-end ARR looks possible again.

🚨🚨AM Scoop by @patwardhannn & @pranavmukul about Unacademy founders @gauravmunjal and @RomanSaini are launching an AI and deeptech focused fund.
The news comes amid a raging debate on this platform about Indian VCs not backing enough moonshot ideas. That they aren’t the “risk” investors they are
made out to be.
It’s a very nuanced debate and I’ll write about it soon, but for now it’s great that more builders are turning to investing. It’ll surely shift things.
🚨🚨 Exclusive: Unacademy founders Gaurav Munjal and Roman Saini are launching a $70 million fund for AI and deeptech investments, sources tell us.

Around 60,000 people are eligible, according to a person familiar with the matter, who asked not to be named while discussing an internal matter. The effort affects about 27% of Microsoft’s total workforce of 223,000 people.

Snowflake CEO Sridhar Ramaswamy @RamaswmySridhar told me in an interview that AI rules must reach every agent businesses deploy, and should not stop at the frontier labs.

At Snowflake, he said, every agent and model integration goes through evaluations that define good behaviour.

For Netflix India is starting to take a leading role per their quarterly results, via @SherwoodSnacks
India sits in the company’s Asia Pacific region, which accounted for just $1.54 billion of its total $12.88 billion revenue figure from the third quarter.
Still, the APAC segment’s position could change if the success in India continues, with Netflix adding more net paid subscribers in the nation than ever before, revenues rising 18%, and view hours up 24% from the same period last year.Â
The streamer highlighted “Lock Upp,” its first daily reality TV show, as a standout success in India, driving “the most viewing of any title on Netflix” in the country ever. Scripted hits like “Operation Safed Sagar” and “Musafir Cafe” also contributed to growth.

SCOOP: Major U.S. banks are detecting unauthorized third-party AI agents inside customer accounts, including some attempting to take actions that appear to be independent of user instructions, sources told Axios.
The findings have alarmed banking executives, who are racing to restrict access to their systems as AI moves at a velocity faster than financial institutions can respond, multiple industry and bank executives told Axios.
Several banks are now preparing for worst-case and even “day after” scenarios, including how to rapidly secure or restore customer accounts if things go wrong, the people said.
Several bank executives told Axios they're struggling to distinguish between human users and AI agents. One executive said banks also struggle to determine whether agents are authorized by customers or potentially operating without their permission, more akin to rogue agent behavior.
