The first Democracy and Political Violence Conference & Collaborative, co-organized with @samjfuller and @JtRametta , is a wrap. Grateful to everyone who presented, discussed, shared posters, and helped make this feel like the start of a real scholarly community.

I would kill to have these in Sacramento. I don't know what do so special about Sac, but I swear I've never lived or spent even a few days in a city with cars and motorcycles so intentionally loud.
"A jacked-up motorcycle in the middle of the night can easily wake up 10,000 Parisians." #Paris joins other cities in #France in installing "Méduse" radars, which automatically ticket drivers whose vehicles exceed a certain number of decibels buff.ly/3D4Ue7l

What's next, Raytheon's CEO claiming he's anti-war? "Here's to a war-free future. Together, we'll unweaponize the future" I get this is an ad, but what the hell are you doing @nytimes ???

There’s something really wonderful and grounding & orienting about spending time in person with old friends you haven’t seen in a while, who remind you who you are, where you’ve been, what’s possible

Huh, there exists a techno-cover of Creep
Just wanted to say that it's morally bankrupt and generally disgusting that the US murders its own citizens, often for crimes they didn't commit. Abolish capitol punishment.
