A few years back, I chose Algo because of Silvio Micali’s MIT background. Meanwhile, the younger founders of Solana, Avax, and Near seemed hungry but not as accomplished as Silvio. I lost big holding ALGO while Micali faded from the spotlight, but Anatoly, Emin, and Illia never stopped hustling, working hard. Swapped to Avax, Sol and Near. Late to the party, but it feels like the right move. Time will tell.
FIFA Collect runs on FIFA Blockchain as of now and FIFA Blockchain seems to run on Avalanche as a subnet.

Just got an email from @FIFACollect who say they are moving blockchains!?? Does this mean $ALGO #Algorand will no longer be involved!? @AlgoFoundation @StaciW_DC @algerstmehn can you provide any further information? @EldarDRM could be a big one but not in a good way?

Enabling P2P communication doesn't make the network more secure or more permissionless; it makes message passing more robust. The network is already secure and permissionless today.
Don't listen to amateurs, listen to Silvio.

Here's Silvio explaining why relay nodes are in fact not permissioned. Having a default starting list is different than them being permissioned. He also explains why Algorand is safe even with relay nodes.

Even if relays colluded all they could do is censor winning blocks (~20 each round). But that's hiding the next block which is different from censoring specific transactions. Censoring transactions would be much worse because you can cherry pick which get in. They can't do that.

With FIFA Collections on Algorand, bringing FIFA Coin to the platform is within reach. However, FIFA President Gianni Infantino has called for open collaboration with others. Let’s stay proactive and take decisive steps to secure a win for both Algorand and its technology.

We must recognize that other blockchains may offer financial incentives to attract FIFA Coin to their platforms. Given the significant role financial incentives play in the crypto space, Algorand must take this matter seriously and remain vigilant.

It will be nice..... If Mr. Silvio Micali a well known Italian scientist can talk to Italian FIFA president Mr. Infantino about FIFA coin, FIFA Collect and Algorand. @silviomicali @algorand
