Too many in the West don't understand the *actual* root cause of this war: Russia fundamentally believes it is their God given right to rule over Eastern Europe & its people. It's not that complicated.
🚨 Putin plans to use Ukraine peace talks to push NATO back to its 1997 military posture According to The Telegraph, the Kremlin wants to force NATO to scale back its military presence in Europe to levels seen before Eastern European countries joined the Alliance. This could mean demanding the withdrawal of NATO forces from Poland, the Baltic states, and Finland. That is why Moscow is pushing for European countries to participate in negotiations over Ukraine. Diplomatic sources cited by The Telegraph say Putin wants to turn talks about ending the war into negotiations over the entire European security architecture. The issue may also have been discussed during Putin's three-hour meeting with Trump's special envoy, Steve Witkoff, in St. Petersburg. However, European countries have previously rejected the Kremlin's demands to reduce NATO's military presence on its eastern flank.

free market has its limits, Aussie companies should be employing Australians; there's a thing called civic pride and social contract, you violate those, well, it's then race to the bottom

what global market, 95% of their operations are in Australia and NZ, it's a race to the bottom if unions don't stop it; there is zero civic pride in corporate Australia, employing Australians should be mandatory, even highest immigration in the #OECD isn't sufficient for the corporate sector, they need to employ people in third world countries to reduce costs, it's insane; in the age of AI, they're going overseas for $20k a year employees

Prepare for more hikes: Sarah Hunter (RBA Chief Economist) on 60 Minutes overnight repeated themes from the RBA Minutes & Hauser interview last week: · RBA minutes: pass through will be faster and more extensive" and "risk of inflation expectations drifting higher is elevated". · Hauser last week: cited from the RBA liaison survey "an increasing share of businesses who are thinking that, maybe, sort of 3 per cent, 3.5 per cent [inflation] is the new normal". “Look, that is the central banker's nightmare. ”We can't allow expectations to shift away from target." Hauser highlighted the RBA had hard choices for 'Laying shorter-term pain on top of pain' in order to avoid potentially far worse pain down the track if inflation expectations get locked in.
