we’re like 9-15 months away from realizing that these ladies were actually keeping all the engineers in line and preventing them from shipping an endless barrage of retarded features that don’t actually solve any problems.

Tonight, Cardiff Castle will light up green to mark Dwarfism Awareness Day. 💚
The illumination celebrates diversity and helps raise awareness and understanding of dwarfism. orlo.uk/S4Qel

The @usgraphics IBM engineer naming prompt, for everything. Software went to slop when they traded the pressed shirt and ties for hunchbacked hoodies and backpacks.
this is only true is your codebase is infinitely large.
which begs the question: why do you keep making your codebase infinitely large?
seems like it would be better to make the whole os, like, 225k lines of code or so.
the recent security incidents are going to 100x the demand for open source models
the software security game is now: the side that wins is the one that can deploy the most tokens
so every organization will rush to harden their software, the demand for tokens will 100x
because if you don’t want to get pwned, you *have* to use ai now
“where did your money come from, @sarlev_?”
“the same place all our money always comes from, @GlueWear— the money printers at the federal reserve, backed by the full faith and credit of american military might, of course!”
the monero:native emails were us. they were wrong. here is what happened and what changed.
what happened
- clients who bought xmr with their own money and withdrew it got an email asking for employer, source of funds and what they planned to do with their coins
- no rule required it. someone saw a young client with a lot of money and called it a red flag. that is not a red flag. that is our customer and client
what changed
- those requests are withdrawn and the clients have been told nothing is required of them
- the "what will you do with your coins" question is gone and unacceptable. where your money came from is a fair question. what you do with it after it leaves is not
xmr stays listed. buy it here, take it home. that is the product..
we'll keep making it better. thx for the call out.

Resources for anyone new or returning to Urbit
If you are on the network, give a shout in the Urbit Foundation group (~halbex-palheb/uf-public) and people will be glad to show you around.
Looking at the urbit.org blog is also a good place to keep an eye out for happenings ("This Month in Urbit" posts in particular).
If you are having trouble getting your ship running, shoot an email to [email protected]. Or, if you have an AI agent at your disposal, they are getting pretty helpful these days! Point it at the site and ask it to help you better understand urbit.
i have a little bit of a humiliation fetish...
...so i pay @AnthropicAI $20 a month to occasionally make mundane requests that either end in refusals or one-shotting my 5 hour usage limits.
