Ladies and gentleman, we've rewritten history.
4.4 Billion Gas spent saving 121 MB of data storing the first 212,991 blocks of Ethereum, back onto Ethereum.
We've Saved ETH.

This kind of FUD is annoying, normally I wouldn't comment but today I am.
First, you should buy art you like at a price you can afford. That's the best way to buy NFTs.
Speculating is also fine! And currently only 1.7% of Save ETH is listed below the backing price, with $85k in secondary volume. Everyone who backed the project did so with very little risk, in that they could receive the backing price back to them. And we raised $12k for a wildlife rescue non-profit in Indonesia which is going to help them finish construction on their shelter. That's a very real massive positive impact the world.
Perhaps this is 'far below expectations' in your mind. But what were your expectations? Buying things and then counting your profit before it arrives, while expecting a 10x or 100x return in one week, will leave you miserable and dissatisfied with life. If you are only here to speculate, which again is fine, you should understand this is high risk and most assets to go zero. In context of the broader NFT market, Save ETH has performed far beyond the average NFT collection so far. Of course it would be great if the price only went up but you should not expect that.
The FWAir Launch system was always described as experimental. No one could predict exactly what would happen next with social and market dynamics. And @Rhynotic has since adjusted many of the mint dynamics and listened to feedback. This is how experimental systems work. You try things and adjust them. And I think they are good adjustments.
I agree that the allow list dynamics are always imperfect but thousands of wallets were allowed to back Save ETH, including most of the people who played the game. If you wanted to back the project when it launched it was very easy to engage and be included.
But as you said "not everyone wants to buy art and then take a loss" and that's understandable. This is experimental technology, and digital art is very niche.
If you are uncomfortable with risk and do not want to risk losing money buying digital art then NFTs are probably not for you.
For everyone else, thank you for being here.
