Black Monday took 22.6% off the Dow in one day and people still talk about it 39 years later.
$100 from that month buys about a third of what it did then.
Anyone remember what gas cost in ‘87?

A family of four in the 🇺🇸 United States: about $122,000 of new money created in their name over ten years.
In 🇨🇳 China it’s about $88,000.

🧵14 October 2008: the US hands its banks $250 billion.
14 October 2026: the US reports prices up 3.7% in a year, gas up 9.1% in one month, and your pay, after prices, down 0.7%.
Same date, 18 years apart. The banks got rescued.

🇺🇸 Your family’s share of the US debt: $470,281.
That’s more than a typical US house. It works out to $117,570 for every person in America, new-borns included, and it grows by about $15 each, every day.
The national debt was $40.09 trillion on 17 September and $40.31 trillion on 8 October. That is $212 billion in 21 days, per the Treasury’s own daily count.
Spread over 343 million people, it comes to about $618 each in three weeks.
Interest alone ran $3.7 billion a day in the fiscal year that ended 30 September.

You could babysit for an hour in Italy and spend that hour on someone fixing your sink.
No bank involved, and nobody can water it down.
That’s how a time bank works. One hour of help earns one hour of credit, whether you cook, teach or mend things. Italy’s national network of time banks scores 4.0 out of 5 on our map, the highest of any project we’ve rated, crypto included.
In the UK, people in local time banks have swapped 6.8 million hours so far.
Since 2014 the number of US dollars has doubled. An hour is still an hour.
What would you trade yours for?

The FBI shut Silk Road in October 2013 to protect your money. Your money has been losing ever since.
You've been working since 2013. The $100 in your wallet has been shrinking since then.📉
Nobody stole from your wallet.
They just made the money in it worth less.

Having a baby in America costs $20,416.
That's the cheap part. The baby also starts life with a $116,932 share of the national debt.
In 1960 it was $17,900, adjusted for inflation.
Nobody asked the baby.

When crypto fell 50% between October and April, you'd expect the biggest money in the world to run.
It did the exact opposite. A recent @Bitwise survey of 15 mega-allocators (pension funds, endowments, sovereign wealth funds and more) revealed that not a single one cut their position.
In fact, several accumulated more. These are funds that move at a glacial pace and worry about bad headlines.
So why double down during a crash? Because most of them view Crypto not as tech stocks, but as a hedge against monetary debasement.
The structural shifts are already happening under the surface:
The Gold Substitution: One endowment holds its Bitcoin inside its "gold bucket," and says that in 10 years it could be telling you "we gave up on gold and it's all bitcoin now."
Reserve Reallocation: A sovereign wealth fund is funding part of its crypto allocation by selling some of its gold and foreign currency reserves.
The macro reality:
• 2006 US Money Supply: $7.1T
• Current US Money Supply: $23.3T (3x+ expansion)
• China Money Supply (2004–2024): 12.7x expansion
Sovereign capital is escaping the fiat trap. Are you?

When your kid opens their first savings account, the pot will be bigger again. It's been getting bigger for forty years, apart from one real drop in 2022 and 2023.
In 1985 there was about ten thousand dollars in existence for every American. Now it's sixty three thousand, same country, mostly the same work.
Nobody has to take anything from you when they can just make more of it.
There will be a big revolution in consciousness. Re-conceptualisation. The second enlightenment.
Every civilisation runs on a conceptual framework. Axiomatic base/fundamental assumptions = the building blocks of the framework.
If the assumptions are false, perception is disrupted = we deviate from a true understanding of reality. We don't see the world; we see the framework.
Plato set the Western framework. Metaphysics and epistemology defined.
Left-brain oriented- analytic- fragmentation of the whole into discrete parts- creating the illusion of dichotomy. Consciousness and matter, separated at the axiom level. Everything downstream inherits the split.
Nobody audits their axioms. Words are mere symbols, placeholders, the same way numbers represent abstract ideas- but we take the symbols as the reality and defend them to the death.
Now AI enters. Civilisation is going through reconfiguration, and AI will make people question everything. For the first time, the average person will watch a machine reason from different assumptions and reach different worlds. The framework becomes visible = the spell breaks.
The first enlightenment permitted us to question the church.
The second permits us to question our perception and understanding of reality itself.
