The official Twitter advert for our paper about Dsuite software for analysing gene flow. With @m_matschiner and @HannesSvardal
Do you want to assess evidence for gene flow across your genomic dataset? The Dsuite software is fast, easy to use with a VCF file, and implements a range of statistics based on allele sharing- ABBA-BABA, f4-ratio, f_d, d_f, F-branch, ...

I disagree with the Mojica issue. Kary Mullis took the Nobel for PCR, and nobody complained about Thomas Brock (discoverer of T. aquaticus) being left out.
Mojica named CRISPR seqs, but the prize is for the genome editing technique.

Yes, the same effect arises with recombination as well (see, e.g. journals.plos.org/plosgeneti…) but exactly how much is still an open question. We understand it pretty well when the mutations are all weakly selected, but strongly deleterious mutations are still a mystery.

Absolutely! CRISPR case system combined with simple detection strips will replace PCR for single species identification from tissue and dare I say #eDNA. Very exciting and so proud of my @GVLUCDavis colleagues. Major break through in transfering it to ecology and conservation!
