“It’s time to redesign the system so that influence and power go hand in hand. It’s not just about who has the title, it’s who can convey trust and respect from others.” – Susan Crown
At the @_WomenLeaders in Sports National Convention, Susan Crown, founder of Susan Crown Exchange, joined @ariivory, multi-media journalist and women's sports commentator, and Danette Leighton @WSFCEO, CEO of the @WomensSportsFdn, for a conversation about women’s power, influence and leadership.
Women’s sports is experiencing tremendous momentum, creating new opportunities for women to lead, invest and shape what comes next.
Coaches play a critical role in making youth sports a positive experience for young people.
What do coaches need to feel prepared, supported and equipped to do their best work?
We’re inviting current and former youth sports coaches across any sport or setting to share their experiences in the National Coach Survey. The survey takes about 15 minutes and will inform future investments in coach education, mental health and systems change.
Thank you to @OSULiFESports, @NIAAA9100 and @AspenInstSports for making this work possible.

#AI is becoming part of how young people learn, create and connect. But there’s still much to learn about how it may shape adolescent development and well-being.
New investment in independent research is an important step toward building that evidence base.
We believe better evidence can help coaches, mentors, educators, families and other trusted adults better support young people as their world changes.
#Technology may evolve quickly. Young people’s need for strong relationships, belonging and supportive adults remains.

“I think above all, good coaches teach emotional intelligence—how to read the room, how to read the field, how to read the team—and they teach leadership, mostly by example. You can apply this to the C-suite, you can apply this to school, you can apply it to sports.”
Founder and chairman, Susan Crown, shares her thoughts in a recent @Forbes feature on why girls in sports are more likely to become leaders—and why quality coaching matters so much in helping them stay in the game and thrive.
