1/ In response to the unfolding military conflict in Ukraine, we have established a Special Operations Center to respond in real time. It is staffed by experts (including native speakers) so we can closely monitor the situation and act as fast as possible.

#btw21 for foreigners: after polls close, German party leaders get together in the 🐘 Elephant round to flirt w/ each other (or explain losses) in pre coalition talks. A benefit of a parliamentary system - you don’t hear winners overpromising (or being radical) on election night.

My 1st assignment dealing with elections was supporting training of observers in #PortHarcourt, funnily enough commissioned by an organisation dealing with environment - without local governance, there is no accountability.

The environmental impact on the #NigerDelta is absurd - oil leaks are not publicised for the lack of media and resources to check for it, and local population pays the price. I hope this decision opens the door for more subsidiaries to be held accountable in developing countries.
