A3: Great question. I always think I have less pateince then I do. I've found that deep breaths help in the moment. Venting in my head of all the things I could say. Saying them in my head allows for me to not say them out loud #mcpchat
#MCPchat Q3: How do you self-regulate as an educator? Don't forget to respond with #MCPchat A3: [response] 👍

A1: SEL to me means ensuring the wellbeing of everyone in the room. Checking in with them and being in the "know" as much as possible #mcpchat
#MCPchat Q1: What does social-emotional learning mean to you? Don't forget to respond with #MCPchat A1: [response] 👍

A4: I roast the children and they love it 🤷🏽‍♀️ (but I'm always nice). I also do daily check ins with each kid which highlights even the quietest kids personality

We start everyday with a warm up of some sort or a short discussion. This year I've started doing mini debates to get them engaged and working together. Yesterdays was does McDonald's have the best burgers. Very interesting discussion

A3: for me, that’s always been based on the school I work at. They have often set the norm for grades. #mcpchat
#MCPchat Q3: How do you determine what to grade? Don't forget to respond with #MCPchat A3: [response] 👍
A2: personally I think grades serve no real purpose at the moment because what does an A actually mean? I think feedback and comments provide much more insight than a single grade. #mcpchat
#MCPchat Q2: What purpose do grades serve for you and your students? Remember to tweet instead of comment and use the hashtag to follow the thread 😎
A1: mine is that students should have ample opportunity to show mastery and multiple opportunities to revise work. No grade should ever be set if students are willing to do the work to improve #mcpchat
#MCPchat Q1: What is your grading philosophy? Don't forget to respond with #MCPchat A1: [response] 👍
Atlanta!!!!
🧊 Icebreaker 🧊 Where are you joining us from today? #MCPchat
A3: they help@gold kids accountable, especially the student facing tracker that they use to keep track of where they are. I find they can have deeper conversation about what they are working on
Q3: #MCPchat What benefits have you found in using progress trackers? Don't forget to respond with #MCPchat A3: [response] 👍
A2: I just make it a part of our daily routine so we spent time going over what they can find on it and how they can use it for collaboration #MCPchat
Q2: #MCPchat How do you encourage students to use progress trackers? Remember to tweet instead of comment and use the hashtag to follow the thread 😎

A1: I’ve used both a public and student facing tracker. Both have their benefits but I think the best classes have both :) #MCPchat
Q1: #MCPchat What type of progress tracker do you use? (pics welcomed) Don't forget to respond with #MCPchat A1: [response] 👍

A5: They should know the upfront worth is soooo worth it for the kids.
Last one! #MCPchat What do you think teachers in your school should know about self-pacing? Don't forget to respond with #MCPchat A5: [response] 👍

A3: before this year I was pretty lucky to have an administration who trusted me to teach the way that worked for me. So I tell them the benefits and they were on board. But I was suuuuuuuper lucky back then. #mcpchat
Q3: #MCPchat How did you “sell” the MCP model to your administration? Don't forget to respond with #MCPchat A3: [response] 👍
1
A2: I normally show the video from Eastern and have a discussion with students about how we will learn differently, etc. I essentially have them learn about the model through the model. #mcpchat
Q2: #MCPchat How do you introduce the MCP model, specifically self-pacing, to students? Remember to tweet instead of comment and use the hashtag to follow the thread 😎

Q1: I decided during my second year of teaching. Things just weren't working so I tried my hand at it before I even knew about MCP. Found MCP the following year and have been involved ever since in some capacity
Q1: #MCPchat When did you decide self-pacing was for you? Don't forget to respond with #MCPchat A1: [response] 👍
